Great Recordings, Well built and compact Records -minus R/RW December 31, 2008 This is a great, solid DVD recorder and very affordable. I was totally impressed with the unit to copy my favorite shows on Cable (via S-Video input) and the playback with the HDMI signal to my HDTV. The remote control covers it all, the menu and settings are EZ to understand and set up. This is a reliable and good quality recorder. I strongly recommend that users buy good quality blank media such as Verbatim, TDK, Sony and Panasonic discs. The lower the number the better with this unit and any stand alone DVD recorder. Verbatim discs are the best out there. Great investment, good product and quality.
Please don't waste your money December 23, 2008 This DVD player will fustrate you!! When it plays (WHEN!!), the picture will be good BUT for no rhyme nor reason, it will decide NOT to play a DVD. It's totally fustrating. This goes for new DVDs or even DVD you just played. I would think it was just my player, except that I read a review someplace else that described the same thing. Do yourself a favor and buy from another company
A bad buy December 12, 2008 I thought I was making a good investment in buying a name brand dvd player. Only owning it for a short while, it began skipping. Even new dvds skipped. Now I can't play a dvd without skipping. I learned my lesson, do your research before buying anything. The recorder does work. I would diffently buy another product.
Great overall DVD Player but recorder has limited options November 12, 2008 This unit plays DVD is super quality through the HDMI connector, however, the recorder has limited capabilities. Even though it is a multi format recordr, I found it to only record on DVD+R discs. Also, recording shows over 1.5 hours makes you choose a lower resolution which creates skips and noticeable pixels. Anything 1.5 hours or less record very nice. The Anynet is nice since I have a Samsung LCD. You can use the DVD remote to control the volume on the TV, also, when you power up the DVD player, it automatically switches the TV so you don't have to manally change the input select.
Mine is fine October 21, 2008 Had mine for 5 months now, throughout the hot summer, & it did not overheat & die. Nice quality image, & features. Easy to use too... I never read the instruction booklet. So far it's recorded & played every DVD- media I put in it.
It has a pause button that actually works the way it should too, which beats Sony's no or limited pause recorders hands down. It's a shame it don't record DVD+ media like most recorders, & VCDs/SVCDs for short clips & projects.
