Order Cancelled Without Explanation December 22, 2008 We already have this unit for another player we have and are completely satisfied with the product. However, when we ordered another for Christmas this year we were surprised to see the only vendor amazon has for this unit dropped the ball. The order was cancelled without any email or other explanation, too late for us to re-order with someone not connected to amazon. This is the first time since amazon started out that we have had this happen. Unfortunately, I am seeing a trend by amazon to utilize third-party vendors more for electronics. Too bad they are proving unreliable.
Great Device With Two Major Flaws December 10, 2008 I actually like this little device. And I have used it often. But the reason I only gave it three stars is because it has two major flaws:
1. The remote does not allow you to chooose/change between albums, playlist, etc. When one playlist is finished, the device returns to the menu and you have no way of choosing another playlist. You actually have to walk over to the Sansa, take it out of the dock, scroll through the menus to the album or playlist you want to play and choose it, the reinsert it into the dock. The remote allows you to forward through songs, pause, and volume up or down. It doesn't allow you to go back to the main menu and choose an album or playlist. This is a serious drawback, and I can't believe the designers didn't take this into account.
2. The player won't fit into the dock when it's wearing a skin. Which is also really annoying, cause you've got to take the skin off to dock it, then put the skin back on when you take it out. Also a flaw in the design.
This device does ok for what it's purpose is. But the designers need to go back and address the two flaws. Then they would have a much better product.
Would I buy this product again? Probably. But it's nice to be aware of it's shortcomings so you don't get a nasty surprise.
SanDisk sansa docking station is a winner...... December 6, 2008 This device has turned my Home Theater investment into a ~3700 song jukebox when my SanDisk sansa e280 MP3 palyer is attached and being charged. This docking unit comes with a three foot Y cable with two RCA channel connectors. If your amp/receiver has a set of RCA audio input jacks you're all set. The unit also comes with a USB cable for compter use and an AC to DC power plug. The supplied remote works great too, so the package gets a five star rating from me.
would be GREAT if.... November 29, 2008 I love the product but two of the four features don't even work!
The remote control flat out doesn't work. I've replaced the battery multiple times so it's clearly a defect.
And the 'audio out' outlet doesn't work. I have to go through the mp3 player to get any sounds at all- which defeats the whole purpose of a docking station with an 'audio out.'
I will be requesting a replacement to see if I have the same problems. If I do then don't buy thisproduct. If I don't then it was just manufacturer error and this is a great product.
Great Product - nice price November 25, 2008 This product does exactly what it says it does. It is compact and stylish and fits nicely in my bookcase. Not for an audiophile but good sound with your 'acceptable' quality powered speakers. I use mine with small speakers and a bass box, and it sounds quite nice.
