THE PRICE HERE IS ATTRACTIVE! The last time I bought a spare battery, it was for and from Toshiba, and cost 1.5X the price here.
However, I just or recently was turned on to an alternative to the manufacture's extra battery. It is a lithium battery that has as much reserve power as a spare but has mutliple applications because it has a large variety of tips or plugs for a great number of devices and also has the ability to choose the voltage, and comes with its own charger. It is not much more expensive either.

This battery is the same as the one advertised on the HP website, only for a lot less money! On the site, if you buy the extra battery separately (instead of with a laptop purchase) the price is $130 - plus shipping and tax! Right now they're offering free shipping for the holidays and some coupons, but it still came out costing more. Amazon offers it for $99 with free shipping. Overall, another reason I always check Amazon before making any purchase.
My only gripe is that this is the biggest battery HP offers for this laptop series, while other laptops have 9 cell batteries options.
