A great microphone for home studios. December 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the reviews and carefully putting it to thought, I bought this microphone in hopes that I would be able to record my piano compositions. And those hopes were fulfilled. This product records crystal clear (so clear that it sounds like I went to a professional recording studio!) and it's easy to use; just plug it into your USB port and record. However, one drawback is that it tends to easily catch small noises, such as clicks or noises that are going on in your house/apartment/etc. Therefore, recording in a dead-silent room would be the best thing to do. Unfortunately for me, I have to record in a room that's always busy. To show you how crystal clear the sound is, here's one of my compositions that I've recorded through this microphone: synthoxide.net/music/Composition19.mp3
MXL USB.007 Mic December 16, 2008 This is an excellent product. It needs to be set up on a table top or mic stand since it's pretty hefty. The quality is excellent.
A great microphone that is as compatable as they say November 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is great mic that almost anyone who records would be satisfied with. It can handle very loud noises(trust me ive tested its limits). The sound is crystal clear and when i say crystal clear, trust me its CRYSTAL clear. The only minor problems one might have is that it doesnt record stereo on my vista computer, only mono. But its not a problem because i only wanted to record mono in the first place. Also the piece of crap software that mxl has for recording doesnt work on my vista computer, but no matter audacity which is a free recording system is far superior anyways. for home recording dont go for a different mic this mic will definatly suit your purposes.
Wonderful! March 5, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As a music director, I bought this for its portability to record concerts in stereo. Just hook it up to a laptop computer (plugs into a USB port) and record away - anywhere! The resulting WAV file is already on the computer ready to tweak in Sound Forge. The stereo sound quality is rich and accurate. We have been very impressed.
