The CC540 from Sennheiser is a noise-canceling headset designed to provide lasting comfort and superior audio quality. The adjustable boom mic has a pivot feature, so you can adjust the microphone position to get the best speech pickup possible, while simultaneously eliminating unwanted background noise. The adjustable headband and leatherette ring ear pads provide a snug, comfortable fit, and you can easily replace the ear pads if they become worn. Additionally, the ear cups swivel 90 degrees in order to provide the best fit. The microphone has a 100 Hz to 4.5 kHz frequency response, capturing the most important frequencies used in normal speech, and the headphone's 200 Hz to 4.5 kHz frequency response provides easily intelligible audio. The CC540 comes with a 0.8-meter audio cord, allowing you a wide range of movement while wearing the headset. It also comes backed with a two-year warranty.

 Beware - Adapter is necessary in some cases October 16, 2008
Like the other customer, I too am unable to use this product as it doesn't include the adapter and I had no idea I needed one. I have an important project due in 2 days and am disappointed that, after having this producted overnighted, I am unable to use it. This information needs to be added to the product description. I'm sure this is a very good product. I'm just unable to tell.

Been happy with this headset. The foam earcushions were a bit tight and brittle, so, as a public service for others buying this product, be patient and careful slipping them on. I have contacted Sennheiser and other suppliers: Nobody seems to know where I could get a replacement pair. Other than that, the headset works great and has improved my presence on my teleconferences.

After reading the product description I was under the impression that this headset was compatible with most telephones and call center devices as it came in the box. Not so. You need to obtain an adapter for your specific telephone. No where in the description does it tell you that.
Until I find this adapter I am unable to use this headset and be in posiition to evaluate its performance.

This is the first headset I've been completely happy with. Previously, I struggled with ear pads that were small and uncomfortably hard along with microphones that could not be adjusted properly.
I no longer struggle.
This headset is completely comfortable, and the microphone produces clear, intelligible speech. I use it with Dragon Naturally Speaking and couldn't be more pleased with the results.
If you need a good headset, by all means, give this one a try!
