Product Description High Quality Versatile Headphones / Self-adjusting Headband / Frequency response 16Hz-22kHz / Optimized for Digital Quality Sound Warranty 1 year
Amazon.com Product Description The Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones are a great pair of headphones that deliver high-quality sound at an affordable price. With 40 millimeter diameter, dome-type driver units and long-stroke diaphragms, your music will sound great. The MDR-XD200 driver units reproduce surprisingly-clear sounds at a wide frequency range (10-22,000 Hz). These substantial headphones feature neodymium magnets for greater power handling and higher frequencies. Five times more powerful than standard earphone ferrite magnets of the same size, neodymium magnets mean that the Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones maximize energy, while keeping size to a minimum. With these advanced technological features, the MDR-XD200 provides great sound without placing too much strain on your pocketbook. With the MDR-XD200 Sony has taken special care to please both the audiophile and cinema-geek. The MDR-XD200 features a sound mode switch (music or movie) to more adequately match the sound source. With a simple flip of a switch, you can focus the headphones' frequency range to make your music come to life or bring you that much closer to your favorite film star. Of course, Sony has not scrimped on comfort. The Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones feature an ear-conscious design with soft earpads for your long-lasting listening comfort. What's in the Box The Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones and unimatch plug adapter (gold).

Decent sound for a quiet location August 29, 2008 I was looking specifically for over-head headphones to help dampen the noise in the environment I work. Unfortunately, this don't do much at all to dampen outside noise. They have decent sound, but it can only be appreciated in a quiet environment.
Bad fit on my head August 25, 2008 Sound quality is good, but I find the fit on my oval-shaped head is uncomfortable. The span of the headband seems designed for the more brachycephalic. If you are an egghead, or a "pointy-headed intellectual" (as Joe McCarthy used to rave), these might not fit so well.
They're headphones...and they work. August 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Thought i had a big head till i put these on and looked in the mirror. These things are enormous! But i like them, not heavy at all and comfortable. So far the sound is good. I can get really clear low bass tones. The 10' cord is a big plus but I think the "sound mode" function is worthless. Didn't notice any kind of difference between movie and music. Thats ok cause i didn't buy it for that purpose anyhow. They're good headphones at a great price and im pleased.
You get what you pay for August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for comfortable inexpensive headphones and these fit the bill perfectly. While I am sure it will get many bad reviews from Audiophiles out there that any under $500.00 set of headphones would. For me these did the thing for those rare times I needed to keep the audio from my computer from grating those others in my house that didn't want to share what I was listening to. I have worn them for hours and after time forgot they were there, very comfortable and good sound reproduction while at the same time blocking out the jet engine that is the noise my computer makes. When my Katz have chewed through to many breaks in the cord to repair I will look to replace these headphones with the same model.
Looks & Brand names can be decieving August 6, 2008 I bought this headphone last week. I was really excited to see a Sony muffler headphone so cheap. I have worked in professional studio in past and I know what a great quality headphone sounds like, obviously it would be dumb of me to compare it with such a headphone, BUT before i bought these headphones i was using headphones by "Cyber Acoustics" which probably cost $ 15 aprox, and honestly they have a better sound, a little more comfortable as well. I have no idea why the button for movie and music is there it doesn't change the frequencies a bit. Some people mentioned trouble using it with glasses, i wear glasses but there was not so much of trouble, a little more pressed but not uncomfortable. I wore it for 5 hours, but it's comfortable till 1-2 hours.
Pros: 1) Profesional look 2) Long Cable
Cons: 1) Sound Quality not worth $ 25 2) You can hear the outer environment easily even when the headphone is properly worn and songs playing on it.
