Amazon.com Product Description The Sony MDR-XD300 Stereo Headphones are a great pair of headphones that deliver high-quality sound at an affordable price. With 40 millimeter diameter, dome-type driver units and long-stroke diaphragms, your music will sound great. The MDR-XD300 driver units reproduce surprisingly-clear sounds at a wide frequency range (8-25,000 Hz). These substantial headphones feature neodymium magnets for greater power handling and higher frequencies. Five times more powerful than standard earphone ferrite magnets of the same size, neodymium magnets mean that the Sony MDR-XD300 Stereo Headphones maximize energy, while keeping size to a minimum. With these advanced technological features, the MDR-XD300 provides great sound without placing too much strain on your pocketbook. With the MDR-XD300, Sony has taken special care to please both the audiophile and cinema-geek. The MDR-XD300 features a sound mode switch (music or movie) to more adequately match the sound source. With a simple flip of a switch, you can focus the headphones frequency range to make your music come to life or bring you that much closer to your favorite film star. Of course, Sony has not scrimped on comfort. The Sony MDR-XD300 Stereo Headphones feature an ear-conscious design with soft earpads for long-time listening comfort. What's in the Box The Sony MDR-XD300 Stereo Headphones, 2.5 meter extension cord, and unimatch plug adapter (gold).

Much larger than I expected May 12, 2008 The Sony MDR-XD300 headphones are exactly how they are described in the over view. The headphones have a pretty good overall sound for the price. These headphones are perfect for the house and they include a very long extension that reaches all the way to my couch (15ft away). They have two different modes (independent) for each ear, media and music. I really couldn't tell a difference between the two. The thing that impressed me the most was the suspension system that makes the headphones virtually weightless on your head. I have worn these for four straight hours playing games and forgot that they were on my head. They have a deep sound but not overpowering to the ears. They are extremely large in size, this is really the only drawback of this product. For the price, get them but if you are looking for a great set of monitors a would recommend the Grado SR60's for twice the price.
No Deal April 5, 2008 i dont really know any fancy jargon to show how disappointed i was with these headphones. just Overall very disappointing sound, nothing compared to a pair of sennhiers. Bass response is next to nothing and the mids and highs all blend it giving it sometimes a rather brash sound. Sony generally produce brilliant and very impressive equipment, that gives you value for money. However these headphones have let me down big time. Take my word for it, spend your money on a nice pair of sennheisers. i have had 3 pairs of sennheisers before these and can definitely tell the difference. Also, after wearing them for even half an hour, your ears start to get real sweaty, which, for me anyway, is really annoying and uncomfortable. Honestly, i wouldn't bother with these.
Very Comfortable... but sound Quality is low November 2, 2007 I purchased this Sony MDR-XD300 looking at the reviews, i was however disappointed with the performance because the sound quality was just not up to the mark.
However this headphone even though is humungous, is really very very comfortable... I printed out the return UPS label after i bought the Audio Technica Quiet Point headset, but i did not return this product just because of the comfort.
So if you are looking for a comfortable headphone... this is the one, but the bass is really low so dont have high expectations....
So So Headphones, July 6, 2007 First off, the sound won't blow you away. But for something thats this cheap it's not bad, although I was hoping for much more. They weren't really comfortable but they never irritated me. They looked kinda cool, something spacey, I'm not sure it thats a pro or con however. If you're looking for something better but a little pricier go for the Grado SR60, they sound a whole lot better.
Best head phone I ever owned. February 13, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a rich Bass handiling head phone this is the one. This is Big, but its worth the sound. The movie and music mode-just ognore it, it dosent make any difference. But the nicdymium magnet is awesome. Theater like experience when u watch movies in u r lap top. If you want to go for any thing better than this go for boss. bUT TRUST ME AT THIS PRICE you wont get any thing better
