| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Rough-in kits are designed to be used to insure that the ceiling material is cut to the correct size and in the proper location for your in-ceiling speakers. For use with Mitek's 6.5-inch Ceiling 2-Way Speakers, 6.5-inch Ceiling Speakers with tweeter control or a single 6.5-inch Dual-Voice Coil Ceiling Speaker, these rough-in frames are available for use in new-construction homes. The Rough-In Kit for 6.5-inch In-Ceiling Speakers can be put in place prior to the ceiling's installation. Each bracket is quickly and easily assembled between ceiling joists. A pair of rough-in frames is included in this kit; speakers are sold separately. The Rough-In Kits can be nailed, screwed or stapled to the ceiling joists. They will span 16-inch and 24-inch studs on and off center. Each bracket includes a small tooled-in loop for securing the speaker wire during the pre-wire process. Attach the two mounting wings to the loop using the included hardware. Position the assembled Rough-In Kit in the speaker location you desire, and then nail, screw or staple the wings to the ceiling joists, using at least two attachments per wing. Attach the pre-wired speaker wire to the wire loop, and then follow the outside of the ridge as a guide for cutting through the ceiling material.

| Customer Reviews:
Amazon did me worng March 14, 2006 The kits are good once I got them. But Amazon sent me the wrong ones. They sent me 8" kits. They tried to help me out by offering me a 20% discount on the wrong part. That does not help if you are installing 6.5" speakers. I call SmartHome who Amazon order them from and got the correct part to my house over night. This sounds like a simple thing to do but Amazon could not do it for me. Looks like going through Amazon was not the best way to get this part. Keep this in mind when ordering this.
