Portable Keyboard October 7, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a keyboard that was as big as a standard one (not as cramped as a laptop keyboard) and that was lightweight and portable. This is lightweight and portable, but the keys are tighter and more scrunched than on my laptop, thus this was not a good purchase. I missed the window to return it, so I am stuck. Don't buy this unless you want to use it with something smaller than a standard laptop.
So far I like it a lot August 20, 2008 I used to have a collapsible keyboard to go with my PDA, too, and though I never would type really fast on it, it certainly served its purpose well. With my laptop, a small lightweight one, typing on the keyboard is a real hassle and this is a very good solution. I expect my typing on it will improve as I go, but so far, I have no complaints at all. I studied all the various options I found for a portable keyboard and this one was the one I was most comfortable purchasing.
A great foldable keyboard March 17, 2008 I got this one for my Zaurus PDA. I take notes, email, and update blogs with it. I needed a keyboard with wired connectivity since my Zaurus doesn't have the bluetooth built-in or the docking jack that modern PDA's do-and most portable keyboards today use either of those. It comes with a retractabe USB cable(4pin mini-USB male). The keyboard has been working great so far. That "slit" other people complain about doesn't bother me at all. I saw some other keyboards with even wider slits(sometimes 1-inch wide or wider), and compare to that, it's nothing. The space key is cut in 2 but still has prenty space to hit on. My only complain is-the cursol(arrow) button thing... why not keys!? Well also the number keys(1-0) are smaller than alphabet keys, and that takes some practice to be used to. I'm pretty happy though, that I found something portable and looks good. I do recommend it to anybody who needs a good wired portable keyboard.
Very handy for tablet PC's February 28, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm an engineering student, so naturally I take lots of notes. I use this keyboard with an IBM x41 ultraportable Tablet PC. When I have the screen turned for tablet use, of course you don't have use of the laptops keyboard. I got this so I could lay the tablet flat on a desk, so I can type and write on my tablet. This keyboard really makes an excellent setup for note taking.
Pros: Good design overall, not too expensive, very portable and lightweight without feeling cheap, keys are full sized except for arrow keys, overall very good.
Cons: The spacebar is "cut in half" to allow folding of the keyboard (it is sometimes annoying when typing fast), also the arrow buttons are kinda cheap and not very useful, they don't have a good feel and are hard to press compared to all the other keys. Also, the removable usb cord uses some kind of proprietary connector, so if you loose yours or is damaged it might be difficult to replace (it's smaller than mini usb)
Nice little keyboard May 26, 2007 I bought this keyboard to use with my Samsung Q1B. Unfortunately it did not work out OK. The Samsung did not recognize the keyboard, no matter what I did. I finally returned the keyboard. The return was just the matter of the compatibility, not the functionality of the keyboard. I tried the keyboard with other desktop and laptop and they were OK. I wish it worked with my Samsung, because the keyboard is compact, and very lightweight. It's really easy to carry around. In addition to that good thing, it's not too expensive as the bluetooth counterparts. The reason I gave it 4 stars, because partly it did not work with my Samsung, (I still wonder why and still regret to return it, it was like a nice toy to play with), partly the row number is not aligned well with the other rows of the keyboard. Once you get used to typing on the regular keyboard, you can't type correctly the numbers without taking a good look before hitting at the number keys. They are not in the right locations as other regular keyboards. The other annoying thing is the space bar is broken into two pieces and most of the time I hit the empty space between them!!! That does not make the space bar pressed -> no space is inserted...
