Works well May 14, 2008
I had previously purchased an 'equivalent' adapter from an online auction site for a quarter of Amazon's price, but it literally fried my computer after a few months of use. Several hundred dollars in laptop repairs later, I was looking for a better quality AC adapter with some sort of guarantee. This adapter works just fine and does the trick perfectly. Spend the money on this and save your computer; all adapters are not the same, even though the cheaper ones may be tempting.
I rated this only 4 stars instead of 5 because of the part of the adapter that attaches to the computer... It's odd. The piece is bulky and in the shape of a T, which has to be rotated to face up or else the computer won't sit flat. All in all, not a big deal, but still a minor annoyance.
