Great companion for walks... May 12, 2008 I have used this radio for several years. It's my companion on my daily walks and keeps me from being bored. Reception is very good outside; in my gym, it's tough because of the steel construction of the building.
The one I just ordered is a gift for a daughter who tried mine and liked it.

If it wasn't so inexpensive i'd be more disappointed. March 6, 2008 First of all, the product was a little bigger than I expected (no big deal). I wanted a cheap portable radio for use at work. When I first used it I noticed the sound from the headphones was horrible and kind of uncomfortable, and they quit playing out of the left earbud after about 3 weeks, (it could've been my fault aswell, becuase I snagged them on an open drawer). That's not a big deal, I had good earphones I quickly used instead. The clear plastic display on the front of the player is VERY easy to scratch and battery life is about 15 hours of use. Which is disappointing to me. Luckily I do have rechargable AAA batteries. So keep that in mind. The digital tuner is what I was mainly looking for, and that is excellent. The volume control is also annoying, it goes from super soft and the next step up is too loud. There's no in-between.
My overall impression is that you get what you pay for. If you can deal with short battery life and have some comfortable better sounding headphones to use instead of the ones included, go for it.
A decent radio for the money... January 26, 2008 After reading the reviews on this, I considered looking elsewhere. But since the reviews were mixed and the description seemed to fit my needs, I took a chance. We're not talking about serious money here, which leads to the point. If you're looking for high end quality, Coby isn't the first name that comes to mind. It's a consumer grade radio that's built cheap to be sold cheap. To that end, it does what it's supposed to do as well as you can expect for $15.00. That said, it actually has pretty good reception, better than my Zen V Plus, and enough features to make it respectable considering the cost. The one thing I'd recommend if you buy one of these is to also buy a decent set of earbuds or whatever suits your listening needs. The earbuds that come with this radio aren't worth the time it took to throw them in the package. The only other thing I have a minor gripe about is the incremental volume control which jumps from very soft to comfortable to very loud with nothing in between. The overall design and function of the radio make a rotary or slide volume control inappropriate, but they could've done better with the push button approach. Other than that, I'm pleased with the purchase. $15 says it all.
Not as mini as I thought November 22, 2007 It works great, excellent reception, great volume level but it is not as mini as I thought it would be, it is like 10cms long (like 4")... other than that, I love it.
Great Cheap Radio September 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is obviously not going to give you great fidelity or longevity. I use it to run (in St. Louis) and have found excellent reception. The key to me is its small size. I love this radio and have bought 3. Sure, they've broken after about a year of use, probably due to salt in the electronics, but I keep going back because I'm not going to pay $50 for something I'll probably break in a similar fashion.
