Amazon.com Product Description The ultimate pocket radio, Sangean's popular DT200V is imminently compact but loaded with convenient features, from its 19 station presets to its drift-free, PLL synthesized tuning, auto station scanning, TV sound reception, and handy belt clip. Listen through the built-in speaker or the supplied ear bud headphones. Forgot to turn it off? No worries: it shuts itself off after 60 minutes to conserve batteries (its sole source of power). The radio's high-impact ABS case virtually guarantees long life. Batteries should last 30 to 40 hours at moderate volume through the unit's single speaker and slightly longer on the included ear bud headphones. Pocket use was taken into account even at the level of ear bud manufacture: if you put your radio in your pocket, it's less distance to one ear than to the other, so one side of the headphone cord is accordingly shorter. The DT200V runs on 2 AA batteries, not included. What's in the Box Radio, ear bud headphones, belt clip, trailing antenna, and a user's manual.
Product Description Sangean's DT-200VX builds on the success of its predecessor, the DT-200V - a popular belt radio for over a decade. It has great selectivity and responsiveness and picks up stations in areas where no other radio could. Along with great reception in the classic black case, you'll also get the handy belt clip, a set of ear buds and an external antenna. The DT-200VX also has a clock, backlight and deep bass boost. The 19-band memory and memory seeker makes it easy to tune in, and the large LCD display makes it easier to see. The Sangean legacy of superior reception and sensitivity are here, with additional features that it even better. Sangean DT200VX August 31, 2008 Nice radio, pleasantly surprised. Case is metal ( not plastic) and size is just right for pocket use. The speaker is adequate and ear buds work fine. I find I need the aerial wire to get certain stations, but overall not a problem. I like the 90 min time out feature. I have not had to change batteries yet.
The instructions were a little cryptic, but adeqwuate. Everything appears to work as advertised. I have not used the TV audio feature. Depending on your needs, this is a great general purpose AM/FM pocket radio that is well constructed.
excellent small portable radio August 27, 2008 This radio has about the best reception of any I have used of this size. The speaker is typical for something this small. The headphones need to be plugged in (not necessarily used) for proper FM reception as the wire evidently serves as antenna. It has been convenient to be able to save both AM and FM together on the set of stored stations. TV sound has also been a useful feature.
Portable AM/FM Radio August 12, 2008 I have enjoyed my recent purchase of the Sangeon DT200VX portable radio. The sound clarity is great and it fit my needs to the tee. The only function I wished was different is the analog TV tuner. Shortwave or a weather band would be more useful especially since HDTV broadcasting is on the horizon. The TV band will no longer be available after Feb 2009.
Sangean DT200VX Perfect for Backpacking August 11, 2008 I had previously been backpacking with my old Sony shortwave but needed a replacement and found the Sangean radio mentioned in the backpacking forums so I looked into it. I purchased one and was favorably impressed with the feel and weight. With Lithium batteries it is light enough to carry in my packpack on long hikes.
The reception in the backcountry (places where cell phones never work) was great both day and night. The antenna makes a big difference. The sound from the speaker is great.
If you are looking for a light backpacking radio I recommend this product.
Nice radio July 31, 2008 It is well made and has a compact size. It performs a lot better than the "radio" feature of the Creative and Sansa mp players that I own.
