SONY ICF-36 TV/AM/FM RADIO August 12, 2008 This is great I just ordered another one. One for work one for home. Highly recommend.!!! SharynSony ICF-36 Portable AM/FM/TV/Weather Radio
This radio is awesome June 11, 2008 This radio is amazing. I am still working on the first set of batteries I put in over a year ago. I have not used the built in AC plug as it is simply easier to use it on battery power.
It gets very good resception on FM and AM.
It is light weight and easy to carry.
I have abused this to some degree and it just keeps on playing.
They only thing I would like to see is an AUX input for an Ipod.
Great radio. Highly recommended.
Best Radio For The Dollar May 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading all the positive reviews for this great little radio I bought one for my brother last year as a Christmas present. Naturally I had to try it out before giving it to him and was most impressed by it's performance. Our local Sears store had them on sale for $23.95 and I had a $40.00 gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I bought one. After using it for three weeks I'm glad I did. It performs well on all bands(well the weather band is not so hot but it's tough to get here) the fidelity is very good and the analog tuner is as smooth and precise as any I've found. The volume control is very linear in it's operation and the L.E.D. tuning light I've found to be usefull as well. My main interest in radio is A.M. dx'ing and after comparing it to other more expensive radios in this area such as the C Crane CC Radio Plus,Kaito KA-1103,and G.E.Super Radio II, this Sony will hang in there with all of them. If you want to get in on A.M. long range listening and don't want to invest alot of money this radio is your best choice. I would recommend it over the double the price Super Radio III which has never impressed me. For the price you get alot of radio for the money. It's no slouch on F.M. either. I'm happy with it and highly recommend it.
You get what you pay for April 23, 2008 I bought this for my wife who drives all day in a truck and listens to radio while she does. Savage, Limbaugh, Dr. Laura -- all that junk. She complained of poor AM reception with the radio she had.
After researching, I sprung for what seemed like a lot of money for a portable radio that did not have digital tuning. All the reviews said the RECEPTION was the best. At the end of the day, that's what my wife needed -- good reception.
This radio has it! She loves it. The downside, the radio does not have a DC input, so you'll be keeping EverReady in business if you're going to play it all day. So what? Portable radios that actually pick up AM in a truck are hard to find. Worth the money.
sony radio April 14, 2008 great radio.... good reception ...probably get another one because my college age children keep taking this one.....
