The SRF-59 is lightweight, simple-to-use FM/AM stereo receiver. Weighing only 3 ounces (84 grams), this compact player is a perfect companion for the track, bike trail or work area. The FM antenna is part of the headphone cord, so you are sure to receive a strong signal. The AM antenna is a ferrite bar type. The local/distant switch will help you fine tune the reception. Both the volume and tuning buttons are rotary dials, providing a nice sight-free way to make major changes to the Walkman. Sony has included their MDR (micro dynamic receiver) headphones with the SRF-59.  My picky husband really likes this one. July 2, 2008
My husband ordered this. I know he replaced the headphones to find a pair that was more comfortable, but he really likes the radio. He said the quality of the sound is excellent. The station signal stays constant with no fading in and out or static. He is well-satisfied with his purchase.
 difficult dialing June 20, 2008
Unlike most of the reviews which were positive which caused me to purchasse the radio I completely disliked the product. it is nearly impossible to dial and pick up most stations. Since the dial is so small you need pinpoint accuracy. Yes, the quality of sound is very good, but I am throwing out this unit, and buying something else !!!
Lightweght Sony Walkman June 16, 2008
I absolutely love this little Sony Walkman. I use it when I take my regular two mile morning walk. It stays right on the station that I want without fading in and out as was the case with my previous radio. It's not high fidelity, but that makes no difference to me. I recommend it highly and bought it after reading reviews on Amazon written by others who purchased it.
