A noise reduction system helps to differentiate speech from background noise, resulting in cleaner, more intelligible recordings, while a switch on the unit optimizes recording depending upon the room size. A 100 to 12,000 Hz frequency response combines with a sensitivity of -35db (w/noise reduction) to capture the most important elements of speech, while an effective output level of approximately -54.0 (+/- 3.5dBm) helps to ensure the quality of your recordings. The ECM-R300 utilizes a single AA battery and has an output impedance of 2.5 kOhms. Lightweight at just 2.2 ounces, the ECM-R300 has a small 2.6-by-2.6-inch footprint, fitting easily onto any available surface. The mini plug is gold plated for maximum conductivity, while its L-shape helps ensure that it doesn't come disconnected while in use. The 3.2-foot long cord allows you to place the microphone a reasonable distance from the recording device and winds around the body of the microphone for out of the way storage and convenient transportation.
