Amazon.com Product Description The Emerson CKS2237 Dual Alarm Clock Radio features Emerson's exclusive, patented SmartSet auto time-setting technology, so you'll always know the precise time. This clock radio is also loaded with features that ensure easy, dependable operation. Trust the Emerson CKS2237 to create the ideal sleeping and waking environment so you wake up on time, feeling rested and ready to start your day. Weather conditions, power outages, and other problems can cause ordinary clock radios to cease working properly. But the Emerson CKS2237 is designed to never let you down. In fact, it automatically sets itself to the correct year, month, date, day and time as soon as you plug it in, and there's no need to reset the time after an interruption of electricity. The Emerson CKS2237 also features seven day-of-the-week LED indicators, high-lo display dimmer control, and automatic Daylight Saving and Leap Year time adjustments. Thanks to its large, easy to read 1.4-inch green display for time and .6-inch green display for month and date, even when you're just waking up, you won't have to struggle to see the exact time and date. Extremely reliable, the Emerson CKS2237 uses a battery that can last up to 5-8 years, depending on the length and frequency of power interruptions. For added peace of mind, the system comes with a low-battery indicator, and an included, extra long-life battery back-up system with 3-volt lithium battery. The CKS2237 adjusts to meet the needs of your unique schedule by letting you set the programmable dual alarms for weekday, weekend, or everyday operation. And to ensure that you go to sleep and wake up in the way that suits you best, you can choose the sleep-to-music function, and either a radio or buzzer alarm. Other options include an auto shut-off timer (if you only want the alarm to ring a set number of times); snooze (if you need a little extra sleep); and the repeat alarm (if you prefer to have your sleep interrupted a few times before you ultimately get up). You'll also never have to worry about not hearing your alarm; the wide-range, three-inch dynamic speaker offers excellent sound quality.

Doesn't work with new Daylight Saving Time dates October 29, 2007 I have owned this clock since 2001, and it has worked great. The best feature was being able to plug it in and have the date and time automatically set. Power outages no longer cleared the date/time, and it used to adjust properly for Daylight Saving Time. I say used to, because when Congress changed the dates in 2006, the clock no longer resets properly. In the Fall, it adjusts a week ahead of schedule, and vice versa in the Spring. So my "automatically adjusting clock" is not "mostly automatically adjusting" - twice a year you need to manually set the time. As this was the biggest selling point to me, the clock is now essentially worthless. Avoid this product and find a clock that truly sets itself using radio waves, not internally hard-coded dates.
Wonderful alarm clock September 6, 2007 My son was given this alarm clock for christmas last year and I did not realize hit would keep time on it's own. It is wonderful. I like that there are two alarm settings so you can have a weekday and weekend time set up. I recommend this clock if the power goes out it resets itself to the correct time via Colorado.
My favorite alarm clock radio(s) August 29, 2007 I have 2 different SmartSet models. I've had one for well over a year, and the 2nd for just a few months. I bought it for my husband because I've been so happy with mine. I love the time-reset feature. It's really easy to set and use this clock and the alarms. It has a lot of flexibility without being overly complicated. Some reviewers have mentioned their clocks are either fast or slow. Both my clocks keep the correct time TO THE MINUTE. I also can't say I had any problems with the daylight savings change. The older clock had a one-time-only fix when the change went into effect. I do not have to repeat this 'fix' ever again. The second clock was already programmed for the new DST. The radio reception is as good as any alarm clock radio I've ever owned (which is to say, not great, but functional). Yes, the display is a bit too bright, even on the dim setting - but it doesn't disturb my ability to sleep.
great funtionality August 7, 2007 just plug it in , and forget it , No worries. Amazingly well design clock, control buttons very simple to operate. Dual Alarm, RESET IT SELF, very SMART piece of electronic. However, i think Emerson can do better job with the product quality. I had to return the first one due to malfuntioning buttons on top panel. The second one works fine. thanks
always on time July 3, 2007 We have several of these clocks now. They reset automatically whenever the power goes out, and the numbers are large enough to read in the middle of the night without glasses. All in all, very convenient.
