4 out of 5 stars Good, compact NC headphones   June 13, 2008
Very high performance noise canceling headphones without the bulk. Fairly comfortable to wear even while sleeping.

5 out of 5 stars Great for airplane travel   May 11, 2008
A great, lightweight NC headset. I do a lot of traveling in all types of airplanes, and the 300s keep the noise out while providing excellent sound reproduction. In a jet airliner, the overall effect is terrific. In a turboprop, it is a godsend. The unique folding feature makes the included zipper pouch easy to store. I also like the airliner dual plug adapter, in case I want to watch what's on the airplane's entertainment system.

3 out of 5 stars Wonderful headphones... except they broke after a month   May 9, 2008
I used these in a noisy cubicle environment and was very impressed at how it blocked out people's voices and ambient noise. They don't quite cover your entire ear but pretty close. The cords are nice and sturdy which was great (the Panasonic noise-canceling earbuds i got had very flimsy cords which caused a wiring malfunction).

BUT. After 1 month of daily use and being very ginger with my $220 purchase, I turned on the noise canceling one day and there was a loud, and eventually tortuous, static sound coming from one headphone. With the feature turned off it didn't happen. I returned them hoping for a replacement but I got a refund instead. I may try the similar PXC 250's which were very highly ranked by Consumer Reports. I'm keeping all the original packaging and invoice just in case!!!

5 out of 5 stars Must-have for every traveler or office dweller!   April 8, 2008
This is my first purchase of noise canceling headphones, but the need was urgent as I sit next to a very loud colleague and in-ear headphones weren't cutting it. I find that with the item turned on, the music is a bit louder (though I like having the option of playing music with it) and the a/c or heat sound disappear (not that it ever bothered me) and all you can hear is your music. I still hear the loud cackling laughter occasionally, but overall, I'm able to hear my music without distraction. Even on the airplanes I don't hear the crying babies or people talking since the over-ear cups around to keep all the music in and all the noise out.

I was afraid of the pinching as I was always accustomed to wearing in-ear buds prior to this, but I don't find it painful at all, even after an 8-hour day.

The only negative, which I believe must happen with most noise-canceling devices, is that I occasionally feel pressure building in my head. I'm not sure why this is, but I'd read it before I purchased them, and even though I'm prone to severe migraines, I decided to risk it. I'm glad I did. The migraines have never been triggered, just occasionally and pressure in my head, but again, that's remedied by turning off the noise-canceling feature, and I still feel I hear the music better than with the ear buds.

Everything about this product is fantastic. Great fit, awesome sound, fine German workmanship, even a neat carrying case. Fair priced.
I didn't really appreciate the noise canceling feature until I was on a aircraft. Incredible how well the noise canceling works.
Only problem is my girlfriend likes them so much I can't get them back.
