I had high hopes for this product. My plan was to use this to listen to my favorite AM talk radio shows. Unfortunately this product has let me down.
Out of the box this radio was great. It has a stylish look, and the set up is simple. Setting the time was incredibly effortless.
Buttons are straightforward, LCD screen is easy to read. Unit is lightweight and portable.
It has three cool ways to carry it around; a neck strap, a velcro strap you can attach unit to your wrist or slide the radio to your waist using it's included/attached clip.
Unfortunately, the reception on this radio is terrible. I first used it in the house. I could hear well, not the best sound but definitely doable. The reception did at times come in and out but overall it was not too bad. I then attempted to use it while running on the treadmill. All I heard was a loud pitched whine. Obviously there was interference. I was disappointed because this was the main reason I even purchased this radio. I was not ready to give up on it though.
Today, while waiting in line at the DMV, I attempted to listen again. I kept having to reposition myself in order to halfway hear the talk. The reception kept going in and out. Keep in mind, I WAS OUTSIDE. Again must have been some interference, I was unable to get a consistent clear signal. Plus I must have looked like some weirdo because I found myself leaning sideways and back in an effort to get a clear signal.
I was not expecting this radio to pick up a Moscow dance station or alien communication. I just wanted to access the same stations I get on my car radio, but portable. On that, I definitely hit a sour note.
