Product Description Apple iPod nano - Like a before and after picture, this updated iPod nano sports a slimmer, more attractive, all-alluminum body; as well as a 1.5" LCD thats 40% then before. But if you need brains with your beauty, then Apple has you covered there as well. You get a new, higher capacity battery that can playback up to 24 hours of music, or 5 hours of photo slideshows. The best part is, for about the same price of an older iPod nano, you're getting twice the capacity! Syncs seamlessly with iTunes Connector for Optional dock Stereo Minijack Hold Switch Charge Time - about 3 hours (1.5 hour fast charge to 80% capacity) Audio Support - AAC (16 to 320 Kbps) / Protected AAC (from iTunes Music Store) / MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps) / MP3 VBR / Audible (formats 2, 3,&4) / Apple Lossless / WAV / AIFF Photo Support - JPEG / BMP / GIF / TIFF / PSD (Mac only) / PNG Sync&Charge via USB Cable Adjust audiobook playback speed Create multiple on-the-go playlists Shuffle songs or albums Repeat one or all 20 Equalizer settings Backlight Timer Display Contrast Alarm - On / Off / Silent Sleep Timer Date&Time Display time in menu bar Color - Blue Supports - Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later, Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later, Mac OS X v10.3.4 or later Unit Dimensions - 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.26 Unit Weight - 1.41 ounces

Amazing MP3 player. September 4, 2008 I've never been an Apple fan, my apprecation for their products going only as far as the styling. But when I got my first iPod to replace a horrific dollar-store MP3 player, I became an instant fan of this line of products (as well as iTunes).
Sure, the 4GB Nano doesn't hold a TON of music, but seriously, 800 songs is plenty for me. And not all of my files are compressed to AAC. The metal case does invoke scratching, but keep it safe in your pocket and it should fare pretty well. I love the anodized aluminum much better than any plastic case.
The Nano's biggest benefit (as its name implies) is its small size. I was surprised at how small and thin it was; even pictures don't do it justice. Yet, it is still large enough to be comfortably held and the screen is still readable.
I especially like the Nano's on-the-go features such as playlist creation, song rating (if I get a bunch of new music and choose to listen to it while working, I can rate it for future reference), and album art viewer. I also like the common iPod feature of logging song plays which then compile with my iTunes total plays when I sync.
The battery on this iPod is really good. I was on an airplane and discovered that my iPod's battery lasts over 4 times as long as the one in my laptop, which is great for listening to music not only all day, but if you don't have time to charge it up before the next use.
Overall, I'm very impressed with this tiny player, its stylish design, easy interface, and genious click wheel. My only complaints are that, of course, more HD space is better, the standard headphones are cheap trash, and sometimes holding the play button won't turn it off until you flick the "Hold" switch back and forth several times. Otherwise, it's a great device and makes my college life a lot more enjoyable.
Happy with my ipod September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did not buy my ipod online so I am writing this as a general review. I am very happy and satisfied with this IPOD NANO and I think it was a wise purchase. No problem at all and works smoothly. Great item and am hopeful to buy a newer version of iPod in the near future.
Pleased as Punch August 29, 2008 I am writing this review in order to let the public know, That you too can have practically brand new items for half the cost. The product I ordered was a Apple Ipod (2Nd Generation) when I recieved it, I was very impressed. my Ipod is like New & plays perfect. I Highly recommend this sit to anyone. Patricia
Apple did it again August 27, 2008 PRO: Very nice cuality product like only apple knows to make it. Resistant. Supports iTunes.Supports fotos. CONS: Only 2GB. Does not supports video or wma files.
This thing has a horizontal line on the screen which never goes away and Steve Jobs and Apple refuses to fix or even address. August 25, 2008 This thing has a horizontal line on the screen which never goes away and Steve Jobs and Apple refuses to address.
Mine and other people I know and read their posts experience a mysterious horizontal line of uniform width and height, just a solid horizontal bar of what may be dead pixels.
It happens if the Nano is left on a charger for a while, or taken in a backpack during winter and other things the owners describe.
The comments on the discussion forums at Apples web site are numerous but are unanswered by Apple support techs (worthless as they are anyway) and the Apple web site even has the audacity to archive the postings so you can't even respond to them if you had a solution !!!
I'm sure the Steve Jobisciples will flame this review with unhelpful votes and flaming comments and you should as long as Apple is providing you with whatever narcotic to keep you spending on these substandard products. Microshaft isn't any better but at least they post fixes and address issues while Apple just ignores what is obviously a wide spread problem.
