Got two of these - both broke within a year August 11, 2008 I purchased two of these clocks - one for me and one for my husbands. His never worked (no radio), but mine seemed okay. However I've not had it a full year yet, and mine just went completely dead - kaput a few days ago. I'm very very disappointed.
Almost perfect.. August 7, 2008 This would be the ideal clock radio if not for the following:
The motion sensor is unpredictable. Sometimes it ignores you waving at it, sometimes it wakes up and blasts you with a beam of orange if you as much as blink at it.
The beam of orange. When it's set to dim, it's also set to ultra bright eye burner mode. You can either set the display to bright, dim, and motion - except the motion is also set to bright. It's very annoying when it turns on because you moved just a little because it lights up the entire room.
Finally, the analog tuning would be fine, if it wasn't right below and exactly the same size and feel as the volume dial. So often in the dark I end up turning the wrong one.
Ok Clock July 21, 2008 This clock radio works fine as a clock or even ok as a radio. The alarm clock feature is also great since it has dual alarms, as long as you leave your alarm set at the same time all the time. The buttons on it are really stiff and you really have to push them hard to change the settings. I'm afraid that I'm going to break the clock every time I change the alarm settings because it's making a crunching sound I'm having to press it so hard. I'm on here looking for a different alarm clock at the moment because my wife doesn't like this one.
I had an older Emerson clock radio that this one replaced because of them changing when daylight savings time started and it was a better built clock radio. I do like that this one has red letters instead of green like the old one. The green really lights up the room.
Has everything I was looking for July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been through a lot of alarm clocks, but I never found one that had everything I wanted. Until now.
+ Crescendo alarm: Alarm buzzer starts out soft, but gradually gets louder and louder until you wake up
+ IR Snooze: Simply wave at the clock to catch another 10 minutes of sleep. It ignores your movements for the first few beeps, so you can't accidentally oversleep by moving around unintentionally.
+ Sets itself! True, this doesn't set itself to the atomic clock, but the battery backup keeps you on time during power outages (the alarm still sounds even when on battery backup).
+ Monday thru Friday alarms: I always forgot to set my alarm Sunday evenings, and forgot to turn it off Friday evenings. Now, I don't have to worry being late Monday or waking up too early on Saturday.
+ Dual Alarms: Have one setting for Monday-Friday, and another one for the weekend! You can look at the clock and at-a-glance see which alarms are set to go off and for what time.

Emerson Radio Jumbo Triple Display Dual Alarm AM/FM Clock Radio with SmartSet Technology My 56 year old eyes can see these numbers at night. Very easy set up and nice sound for a bedside radio. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommend.
