I don't get the other reviews March 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this clock because I sorted on best avg customer review. I don't know why the high reviews - the shortcomings of the clock are in the reviews. Setting via the atomic clock did not work at all (one of the other reviews noted the same but said its ok because they set the clock 5 minutes ahead). As another reviewer noted - the clock drifted - yup. Another wrote the alarm was not loud. I think that summed up my experience; the clock does not set, its not accurate, and the alarm is not good. I bought it to be a self setting accurate alarm clock that would wake me up. I will add a new comment, the clock looks like it is straight out of the Jetsons, and its big, that might be attractive to you, but to me it was scary. I am glad Amazon has a great return policy.
Better than expected February 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It has two temp readings. One within the radio and one wireless (which I keep in the garage - next to my extra beer stash). The indicators are LARGE and the night light is mellow enough not to keep you up at night. A minor flaw is once it gets the exact time (when 1st plugged in) it drifts a minute or two. Could probably be reset manually but I would have hoped the engineers would not have left out an auto-update-time feature. Best part is, the Alarm Time/Alarm On-Off settings are VERY intuative. Changing the wake-up time could not be easier. Love ya's, Vic
Great Clock February 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When first plugging in the clock, its suposed to auto-set to your time zone. Mine didnt do that. But I didn't mind because I set my clock 5 minutes fast anyway. The indoor and outdoor temperature readings are great. I also like how the outside sensor is a wire attached to a screen you can hang on the wall. So you can see the temperature whether you're looking at the clock, or at the unit hanging on the wall. I LOVE the auto-dimming feature. One reason I switched clocks is because my other one was too bright. The brightness is perfect.
One thing to be aware of is that the lower you are looking at the clock, the harder it is to see. My bed is pretty low and my nightstand is a tiny bit higher than my bed. Any lower and I dont know if I would be able to read the numbers while laying down. Just something to be aware of.
Overall, a great clock. Recommended buy. :)
BIG BLUE with outdoor temperature October 26, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Has exactly what i needed, big digits, but not too brigh and outdoor temperature. I also liked the fact that the clock set itself once I plugged it in.
Nice and pretty clock September 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Easy to understand menu, once plug in then press and hold the time zone button for 5 second then press either + or - key to choose your time zone and the time and date will set automatic. The clock has a beauty lighter blue-violet back-light that stay on all time and is auto-dimmer, the digit is about 2 inches in darker color make the display easy to read in all angle, The temperature sensor is only around 1-2 degree difference on my, it's not a big deal, The only draw back is the alarm set and sound, it start as beep sound then gradually go faster and faster make it sound like a bell, but the volume is low(lower then my microwave reminder sound), and have to press the alarm set button 3 times to active the alarm every time, I do not use it as an alarm clock, so it doesn't matter to me, I put it in the office to replace the other one use battery operated and without back light, the nap timer is useful though. has a memory function in case of power outage and could use 3AAA back up battery for alarm. The clock is around 4Lx6Hx8W", the display size is about 3x5". It is pretty though.
