so-so for the price July 11, 2008 I bought this when target had it on sale for $78. The screen size is larger than our previous model that stopped holding a charge. Within 4 months of use the power adapter(plug into wall one) stopped working mid-use. Now only the car adapter works. I'm going to try ordering another one and see if it will work, but otherwise I would've been better off buying a smaller screen and better name brand. Next time I will go Sony or Phillips.
Good product and value, but won't last July 7, 2008 I had one for about 4 monthes, but after the warranty, it simply died. won't charge or play at all even with ac. Only buy it if you can purchase additional warranty for cheap.
Battery died within 4 months July 6, 2008 My parents bought this for my 9-year old in January for his birthday from Target - he used it sparingly for about 4 months, and the battery seemed to start holding less and less of a charge. Then it completely died. I've looked online and it appears that this is a common problem from the consumer comments I found. And Audiovox does not even list this model on their site, or offer any easy info on how to resolve consumer issues with this product. So it's past Target's 90-day return window, and I'm stuck with a piece of junk...I have owned another Audiovox portable dvd player (model D1708) for about 3 years now, and it has always worked perfectly (although I've seen some other reviewers that have had issues with this model too). If anyone has any tips on how to resolve this with Audiovox, please let me know.
Won't Charge April 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought 2 of these in November, didn't give them to the kids until Christmas. In February, one stopped charging, but would still play when plugged in. In April, the second stopped charging. Looked and looked for battery replacement, but none found. Anyone else have this problem with this unit?

I have been shopping for a portable DVD player for quite some time and was thrilled to find such quality in my price range. The volume could have a little more range but since I mainly use it at my desk it's not a problem. The picture is great, it's simple to use and I love it.
