Product Description The world is getting smaller. Perspectives remain different. It's interesting to hear how USA politics and events are discussed in different countries. I know. I listen to newscasts around the world with my shortwave radio. When you want full shortwave capabilities and a classic design, choose the Eton Grundig Satellit 750. 360-degree rotating AM antenna enhances the radio's tuning sensitivity to help you pull in weak signals. You can listen to AM, FM, Shortwave with SSB and aircraft band frequencies, and you can program in up to 100 of your favorites for each band (up to a total of 1000 for all bands). You can also connect your MP3 player through an auxiliary input for even more listening choices. I've used Grundig shortwaves for years. The Satellit 750 makes listening to the world easier and better than ever. Auto Tuning Storage function (ATS) for FM/AM/Shortwave Mute function 1000 station memories (each band 100 memories, 500 customizable Dual alarm clock function 12K AM output socket Line in socket (can be used as speaker for MP3) Line out socket (radio broadcasting can be transferred to other device) External antenna jacks for both AM/FM Power source - AC/DC-6V power supply Unit Dimensions - 14.65? x 7.24? x 5.75? and 372mm x 184mm x 146mm (W x H x D) Accessories - owner's manual, warranty card

Ok performer but nothing special. Awful SSB Performance. August 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The radio works fairly well on AM and Shortwave. FM performance is quiet good. SSB (Single Side Band) performance is very poor. Good candidate for the $199.00 class but at $300.00 it is just not worth it to me. For the same money you can have two Grundig G5 radios or a good used Sony 2010. In the future companies like Kiwa may elect to offer some improved filters for the radio. If so, that may make it more attractive to the Dxing and SWLing community. On the other hand, that adds additional cost to an already overly priced radio for the level of performance offered.
Puzzled August 18, 2008 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
How is it possible to give any review of a product that has yet to come on the market? I have been holding fire for this thing since January. To my knowledge, it has not been sold in this country or anywhere else for that matter. Who are these kewl guys that have laid hands on something that for all intents and purposes cannot be had for love or money?
Great Radio August 16, 2008 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I just recieved my satellite 750 and fired it up right out of the box.Spent the whole evening checking it out. I guess the first reviewer got a bad unit, but Grundig has a one year warranty on parts and labor. I've been waiting months for this to arrive and I am very pleased. This is an upgrade from a Eton S350dl which is also an excellent unit. The 750 has the rotating ferrite antenna which works great for late nite AM.The tuning control has a nice feel to it and will loop around once it gets to the top of the band your on so you don't have to tune all the way back. You can also tune by the keypad or the up-down buttons.Nice well lit lcd and signal strength meter. I don't know what the first reviewer was expecting{although a working unit would be nice]I'm sorry he got a bad one but that happens with anything you buy these days. You read reviews and research the hell out of a product and you get people that hate it and those that love it.I'm glad I bought this radio.
Caveat emptor August 15, 2008 2 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have been eagerly waiting for this item, but based on the one-star review of another person who has also been eagerly waiting for it I think I'll pass on the purchase. Spending $300 for a boat anchor/doorstop is a bit too much!
Poor Quality Chinese Made August 14, 2008 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
Once the name GRUNDIG stood for quality and performance in shortwave receivers. Sadly we see yet another example of a poorly designed outsourced, Made In China item. After waiting for 3 months for the Chinese to ship to the US ( btw- the ads for this receiver came out almost a year ago). It is a far cry from the Satellit 600 that preceeded it. The 600 suffered from the typical ker chunk sound heard when tuning it, however the performance and sensitivity was very good. The Sync lock was removed from this 750, so there's lots of shortwave drift. Mine arrived and right out of box powered the 750 up and guess what?? No Signal...Only a mototboating sound on all bands due to a faulty IC. Battery door is cheap, fits poorly and will be prone to break. The controls have a very cheap feel to them. Also be aware that these new models have a higher than normal battery drain even when powered off from the clock display which stays on all the time. Eton's other models use a second set of AA battereries just for the display but Not so with this model so be prepared to replace batteries more frequently unless you install a switch to completely power it off. Since mine was DOA I can't say how the performance is. I'm sure some of these radios will work but from the viewpoint of this Extra Class Ham operator W4ARZ...this is another example of declining quality of a company that once prided itself on Quality and Performance. Since there isn't any zero's I'll give this receiver a 1.
