Direct Cable ConnectionJune 1, 2008 This is the cable that connects two windows computers together so that one can use the files of the other. It is all that is needed. The software is within the Windows operating system. Unless it was installed in the computers when they were set up, it must be added from the installation disks using the "add programs" feature.
I used it with Windows98.
It usually replaces the printer cable, so that plugging and unplugging is necessary - or a switch can be installed. It reverses the wiring so that this cable can not be used to directly connect to a printer.
