Amazon.com Product Description If you're looking for a table radio that can compete with a full-component system in sound and performance, look no further than Cambridge SoundWorks 730 Radio. Thanks to a built-in subwoofer and ingenious amplification engineering, the SoundWorks 730 will put any other table radio under the table in head-to-head competition. Priced much less than its closest table-top competitors, the SoundWorks 730 is in a class of its own, delivering uncompromised performance and unequalled value. Built-in Subwoofer: The Heart of the System It's amazing what a difference a subwoofer can make. When you turn on your SoundWorks 730, your first reaction will be to look under the table for hidden subwoofer. There's no mistaking the pulse created by a real subwoofer. Cambridge engineers came up with an ingenious way to position the subwoofer and amplify the bass to produce deep, distortion-free sound at any volume. In combination with its wide-dispersion speakers, the SoundWorks 730 delivers sound that's hard to believe comes from such a small box. It's not just better than most tabletop radios, but actually better than many component stereo systems. With separate bass and treble controls, and an auxiliary input for a CD or MP3 player, the SoundWorks 730 gives you everything you need to fill your room with awesome sound. Lots of Features to Love . But there's a lot more to this baby to love than just the sound. A large, 32-character display means that you'll no longer have to squint to see what you're listening to. From clear across the room, you'll be able to read the song your radio is playing (assuming your FM station supports Radio Data Service) in your choice of five languages, scrolling across the display. An automatic dimmer reduces display brightness in dark rooms while maintaining good legibility under bright conditions. The SoundWorks 730 also has 16 presets for two bands of FM tuning and 8 presets for AM reception, front inputs for your CD or MP3 player, and a headphone jack. Rear inputs and outputs are included for recording, mixing and outside signal reception. A full-featured remote control offers the ultimate in convenience, while the alarm clock function offers variable snooze settings and two alarms that wake to tone or music. What's in the Box AM/FM stereo radio with attached 95-inch AC cord, AM loop antenna, FM wire antenna, remote control, CR2025 battery, user's manual, and online registration card.

Cambridge Soundworks 730 Radio November 6, 2007 This was a smart choice on my husband's part. He needed something for work and he wanted something similar in size to the Bose Wave that we purchased several years ago. When we got it and plugged it in, this is something we decided was far superior to the Bose. Extremely happy with the purchase. Needless to say, this is not something that went to work with him. We have both been enjoying it ever since. Far superior sound quality. You won't believe your ears!
Amazing sound July 21, 2007 As advertised, this radio provides full, well-rounded sound in a small package. However, I returned it because it was the wrong color and reordered it from another site.
Great sound that surrounds the room. May 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Best radio I've ever owned. Fantastic sound. Got it for an alarm clock and to just listen to while working in the bedroom at home. The sound literally surrounds you in the room. Has two separate alarms which is really handy for the wife and I.
Sound.... May 8, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ok, I am a very big critic on everything. I realy like the sound that this nice small sleek radio can give out. I am a sound freak, I love to hear as many different notes and sounds as possible in my music, and this radio has not let me down. I realy don't use it much for the AM, FM radio feature but I do have my i-Pod connected to it and the sound is so clear (as long as use put the seting to your liking). The alarm is realy not that loud but it does do the job just right. When I say "just right" I mean not to loud for you to get pissed off every time it goes off and not to low to keep you asleep and miss an appointment. Well I just want to say, you are getting everything you paid for.
Bose Who? April 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this product based simply off the reviews. I did not want to shell out the type of cash they were asking for the Bose Wave Radio. I have listened to the Bose Wave Radio numerous times and while the sound is quite good, I could not justify spending that much money for such a small system. Then I came across the Cambridge SoundWorks 730; the reviews seemed good and the cost was far less than the Bose, so I decided to give it a shot. I have a relatively small living room that I needed some music in and simply did not have room for a component system. Believe me when I say, this little unit puts out some serious sound for its size. The bass response is excellent, far better than that of the Bose, and the mids and highs are very nice as well. I could not be more pleased with this product. The radio reception is a little weak without an antenna but with an iPod connected, you've got some serious sound coming from a very compact unit. Fully pleased with the Cambridge SoundWorks 730. I do not believe you can find a higher quality compact radio at this price. Sound is every bit as good as that of the Bose Wave Radio for far less!
