Amazon.com Product Description Audiophiles who demand great sound quality but need something smaller than DJ headphones will appreciate the Sony MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Earphones. With nine millimeter diameter driver units and PET (generic mylar) diaphragms, your music will sound loud, clear and rich. The MDR-EX81LP driver units reproduce surprisingly clear recorded sounds at a wide frequency range (5-23,000 Hz). These substantial, compact earphones also feature neodymium magnets for greater power handling and higher frequencies. Five times more powerful than standard earphone ferrite magnets of the same size, these neodymium magnets mean that the MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Earphones maximize energy, while keeping size to a minimum. With these advanced technological features, the MDR-EX81LP provides great sound in a tiny package. The Sony MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Earphones' earbud design was built for the audiophile on the go. Made of Elastomer, the hanger fits around your lobes for a snug fit. Sony has not scrimped on comfort, designing the earbuds with soft silicone for a stable and comfortable fit for your ears. Also, Sony has used a lightweight, aluminum shaft throughout the earphone for even more stability. These features allow you to listen to clear, robust sound while you're at the gym, the ballpark, or any time you're on the move. What's in the Box Sony MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Headphones, earphone holder, carrying case, and small, medium, and large ear pieces.

Good, Bad, Ugly October 31, 2008 I've bought this product more then I'd like.
It's very good for a few months(usually long enough for the warranty to expire), and then one of the head phone will stop working.
Buy at your own risk.
Pretty Awesome October 21, 2008 These earbuds are great. I'm not sure what the people giving this product negative reviews are talking about, but I definitely disagree. I had a pair similar to these that I bought in 2006 and used them 5 times a week when running for almost 2 years. I think eventually the moisture from sweating on/around them for so long made them stop working. After that pair was finished, I couldn't find a new set, so I tried Bose earbuds, the 150$ Shure earbuds, and another set of Sony ones with a headband thing attached to them. None of those pairs were as good as these, and now that I have found them again, I bought two pairs. They stay in your ear, they sound great with both Ipod and Ipod shuffle, and have a better, deeper bass sound than most headphones this size. Great Product.
Too big May 9, 2008 The product is ok but is a little large for my ears and slightly uncomfortable. the covers come off to easily. This is a mediocre product. good sound quality though.
Poor design, good sound! March 21, 2008 I like the quality of sound, but the Earphones do not stay in your ears well. For an item designed to stay in your ears, Sony really missed on these!
NO February 11, 2008 Waste of money, didnt fir my ear very well, and not that great o sound
