Product Description The IncipioBud allows you to easily connect a iPod Shuffle to any USB port without having to use the relatively large iPod Shuffle Dock (included with your iPod Shuffle). Supporting full speed USB transfer rates, you will be amazed at how quickly it handles music transfer with iTunes and charging needs. The IncipioBudTM is the perfect travel companion, taking up virtually no space in a bag or pocket. No need to haul around the Dock and cables that came with your iPod Shuffle, just pack the IncipioBud and a user all set. The IncipioBud also comes with a convenient lanyard loop on the side so you can attach it to backpack or laptop case. This tiny adapter weighs in at only 5.6 grams and measures a mere 47mm X 16mm! No problems using it. December 1, 2008 Works well for me and is a nice compact product to keep in the laptop bag.
Looks like something you can buy for less from china July 18, 2008 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4656 Has basically the SAME thing, ships free from China, and is priced at $1.40 Both sites are reliable, but airmail from china can take up to 2 weeks. That, and, I prefer to use amazon for my orders. I know of one thing that might be a problem for both of these. The very end of this plug closest to the plastic-like plug, if you accidentally bump it while charging, there is a chance of a USB surge, so don't bump it. Other than that, this is what SHOULD have come with the shuffle to begin with. Where ever you choose, make sure It's from a trusted source.
perfect for what it does May 11, 2008 It does exactly what it claims to do. I have a little zippered case that is perfect for my iPod shuffle, the earphones and this little device. The original docking base that comes with the shuffle stays with my computer at home, and the IncipioBud goes with me when I travel. Plus, the IncipioBud is perfect for plugging the shuffle into other USB locations like boom boxes, etc., without having to haul the cabled docking base around with you.
Essential 2G Shuffle Technology! March 11, 2008 So you have gone to the trouble of purchasing a 2G Shuffle (the real one, made out of metal) as a "second iPod"; you have at least one laptop upon which you depend for many of the essential features of 21st century life; then why in heaven's name would you want to be stuck with the brain-damaged dock that Apple insists on selling with the Shuffle?
The IncipioBud plugs into a USB port and into your 2G Shuffle, and you are off to the races. Small, easy to fit in the tighest carrying spaces (mine stays in the carry case of my Asus Eee PC 4G (7 Screen, 800 MHz Intel Celeron Processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Pearl White, which is itself breathtakingly small and functional), and just plain cool.
Works with Mac, Microsoft and my ASUS Linux-derived OS -- so buy one! You'll thank me later.
I bought it for MUCH less- woks perfectly. March 6, 2008 I bought this identical item at 5Below for $5.00 (no shipping) put it on a neck chain with my shuffle - now I have everything I need to charge and sync my shuffle together! Considering Apple just halved the price of new shuffles these accessories should drop substantially in price including shipping - a plain envelope is fine!
I love my shuffle but I got tired of losing my place when I am listening to books (inadvertent pressing of buttons) and spent a lot of time "fast forwarding". I now have an iPod Touch (love it - but bought with points) and use my shuffle when I am in a place where charging could be inconvenient - when I fly long distances. The capacity is pretty amazing. I want to purchase a dock adapter but they are overpriced - no doubt the price will drop.
