Not what I expected October 12, 2008 This mp3 player has been a pain in the butt. It worked fine the first few times, but now the battery is always dead, and I've only used it 3 times before. It will play for a little while (1/2 hr workout) but be dead the next time I try to use it. I'm not organzied enough to charge it every time I use it. I used to have a Nike mp3 player that lasted forever, and I guess I expected this to be as reliable, as RCA is a goo brand, but I am disappointed.
Great for Exercising with Music September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this mp3 player. I needed an alternative to my brick-sized iPod (which I still dearly love, but it's a bit large) and this tiny player fits the bill. I've only put songs on it so far, since I need music to keep some pep in my step when I'm walking for fitness.
I found it very easy to use, with clear directions for installing it and uploading music to it. It's also easy to scroll through songs or change the volume when I'm out walking.
And, it is very lightweight and small, so you can grab it and go. The accompanying straps are great, but I usually find carrying it no big deal, and it fits easily into my pockets.
For the price, this player is an excellent deal which fits my needs nicely.
Was great until it broke piece by piece August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased RCA products before and never had mayor issues with them, this RCA player was a waste of money, the menu button broke off the first couple of months and then the battery started to die slowly until one day after recharging it through the USB connection it decided to stop working. Does have some nice features like the rubber padding on the buttons and the design itself but it's worth nothing if the product is so fragile (wasn't this supposed to be a sports player designed for every day use?). Anyways, I do not recommend this product.
Slow sync, can't delete songs, not so great menu July 16, 2008 At first, this little player seemed okay for the price. The initial sync went smoothly. The Menus are not intuitive. You must push the right or left arrow to navigate through the menus. If you ever push the center button, it plays the first alphabetical song on the player, which I have heard many times now. We started having problems when we wanted to delete a few songs. The USB connection seems to be very slow. It takes a very long time for Windows Media player to initially load the song list from the player. The player is almost full so there are a lot of songs to list. It takes about 5 minutes for the song list to load. We have tried it on our older desktop and a new laptop and both are really slow. We have also tried Media Monkey. And it appears that I can't delete any songs in Windows Media Player. I just sits there saying it is deleting the first song. After 5 minutes, I would cancel the delete and then I would have to exit Windows Media Player or I couldn't do anything. The only way I have figured out how to delete anything is through My Computer. But that seems to mess up the file list in Windows Media Player. At this point, I am thoroughly fed up with this player, and since we just bought it, I am going to return it.
Great for the $$ March 14, 2008 I'm quite happy with my purchase. I'm very non-tech and RCA doesn't really offer any support so I've been having to figure this out on my own and that's time consuming, instead of just being able to 'click' for an answer.
It sounds great, holds more than enough music for my 1-2 hour nightly workouts and the arm and wristband keeps my hands free and out of my way. I can't get it to shuffle and I do have the shuffle feature turned on. But like I said, RCA has nothing to offer in any way of support for this product. Also, I found out tonight that if I try to fast forward to the next song (can't figure out any other way to move to the next one) it turns the stopwatch off.
All little glitches that I'm sure I can work around, I just wish RCA had a Q/A page so I could just learn how to control it faster.
