Amazon.com Product Description Combining topnotch sound quality with a slim, subtle design, the Sony ZS- SN10 CD boombox excels in the house or on the back patio. The boombox is outfitted with a robust CD player that supports CD, CD-R, and CD-RW playback, along with digital MP3, ATRAC3, and ATRAC3plus formats stored on a CD-R/RW. ATRAC3plus is an advanced audio compression technology that offers multiple bit rates, letting you create music compilations tailored to your listening preference. Even better, you can store up to 490 ATRAC3plus tracks on a single CD-R/RW disc at 48 kbps, reducing the number of discs you need to maintain a diverse music collection. And file management is a snap thanks to Sony's SonicStage software (included), which helps you manage, burn, and play back your digital music collection. The ZS-SN10 offers a number of CD playback modes, ranging from track programming to repeat play (one or all tracks) to shuffle play. Should you tire of listening to CDs, you can turn to the digital AM/FM tuner, which includes 30 station presets (20 FM and 10 AM). And the boombox's quartet of personalized sound modes--jack, rock, pop, and vocal--let you customize the overall audio to meet your taste. Other details include a pair of 4-inch speakers; a two-line dot matrix display that supports ID3 tagging; a PC/audio input that offers plug-and-play integration with a digital music device (like an iPod or MP3 player) or PC; an easy-to-use jog lever; a 10- key Direct Access remote control; and compatibility with Sony's Connect music store. The ZS-SN10, which runs for up to 25 hours on six D-size batteries, measures 19.69 by 5.71 by 9.06 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a one-year warranty on parts (90 days labor). What's in the Box ZS-SN10 boombox, remote control, software CD-ROM, user's manual.
Product Description This ZS-SN10SILVER boombox is an excellent blend of high quality sound and slim, subtle design. Four sound modes let you configure the audio levels to match your specific music choices, and the plug-and-play integration with digital music devices extends your options even further. A full-sized, 10-key Direct Access remote control lets you enjoy your selections without leaving your chair.

Works great July 18, 2008 I purchased this to play music on hold on my phone system. I like it because it will play audio and MP3 CDs, has a continuous play feature, has a power cord, and an earphone jack that I can put directly into my phone system. A bonus feature is several different EQ settings with a bass boost switch - this allowed me to get a good sound over the phone.
Even though I am not using it for room sound, the speakers sound great.
Works so good I would buy it to play music in the garage or similar place.
great features - but get a better price June 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Find a sonystyle store and buy this for $59.97. Plus 6% tax(I live in PA). For a "boombox" of this size the sound is fine. If you want to rattle windows buy something else. Also has every feature you would ever need. Line in is great for the kids mp3 players. There is no cassette player/recorder but I think that media has hit it's EOL for the most part. How long will it last? Hear a lot of complaints about Sony quality dropping but I have 2 cd/mp3 players and 1 cd player and they are still going strong. The cd player >10 years old.
Overpriced on Amazon April 20, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have just purchased this item and it does seem perfectly adequate for a secondary system (bought it to use on our enclosed patio.) I did not, however, purchase it through Amazon and my comment relates to why. Amazon lists the price at $199; however you can purchase this directly from the Sony website for $80 and I found mine at my local Sears for $79.95 (and saved on the shipping.) I have purchased many products from Amazon, over the years, and their prices have been consistently good, but from now on I will not assume that Amazon necessarly has the best prices. For Amazon (though in this case, this item is linked to an outside vendor) to sell stuff that is more than twice the price as available elsewhere, is very annoying. For $80, I love this boombox; for $199 I might not love it so much! I am extremely disappointed with my most recent (non-purchase) Amazon experience. Amazon - what gives???
Excellent sound.....easy to use.....WE LOVE IT! April 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've owned this for 3 months and have no regrets with our purchase. The sound produced is excellent for a portable stereo and it's very simple to use. I set the radio stations and added titles to each setting so we knew what we were listening to. It was very simple to program. The remote control is simple to manipulate with very straightforward command buttons. Bottom line, we love it and would buy another one if we were in the market. We did not, however, purchase this through Amazon since I found it at my local Sears for the same price and didn't need to pay for shipping or wait for it to arrive. It always pays to shop around, even with local stores!
As expected.... March 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have been very happy with this boom-box. Don't expect more than a good quality boom-box with some neat technological features - which I have yet to use but look forward to. I appreciate not having a cassette (whatever that is... why do they make those anymore?). I like the styling and the feel. Sound is just fine if not actually pretty good for a boom box with custom basic equalizer.
No complaints if you are looking for a nice boombox with some potentially very nifty features - most which I have not explored.
