Amazon.com Product Description The MDR-W08L headphones fit inside the ear for jostle-free listening. Created for active listeners, these headphones are better held in place with the wide, over-the-head headband. They are extremely lightweight (.5 ounces) and will provide hours of comfortable listening. Sony uses 13.5 mm driver units in these headphones. While lightweight and small enough to fit inside the ear, they also deliver a good bass sound and wide frequency range (down to 20 Hz.) Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight. The open-air design allows for ambient noise to enter the ear, a safe feature for exercisers as you will hear car horns, passing bikers and dog barks. The cord is one meter long (3.3 feet) and the nickel-plated mini-plug offers crisp sound delivery. The headphones are a modern black color. What's in the Box Sony MDR-W08L headphones

headphones August 29, 2008 It was pretty good have had no problems. Very secure for running. The sound is decent and they are fairly comfortable. I prefer these over earbuds.
Adequate for price August 25, 2008 Sound quality and comfort are good. Cord is very short, which makes it difficult to use for the purpose intended.
I was skeptical but these sound great August 20, 2008 You will not believe the sound that comes out of these small things. Amazing.
Not comfortable....too much wind noise August 9, 2008 The sound in the headphones is fine and I really liked the fact they were light and fit over the head but the earbuds never really seemed to fit and they were slightly hard and uncomfortable. Maybe it is by design that they do not fit snug in the ear but while I was walking and jogging the wind kept whistling around the earbuds and I couldn't tune it out. (this wasn't a windy day either, just the normal air that would pass by you while walking or jogging.) The fact that they kept slipping coupled with the wind noise issue kept me distracted and aggitated to the point where I couldn't enjoy my work out. I'm going to go ahead and keep them and use them for a back up in case my headphones at work go out but these will not be used with my mp3 player as intended.
Great for sports - don't be deceived by the price! August 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These headphones are far and away the best I have ever had. As a runner, I look for headphones that are lightweight and will stay in place while delivering top quality sound. These definitely deliver. I have had several pairs over the years and have always sought them out. They have carried me through 5 marathons and countless training runs.
Some reviewers have complained about the rough edge that can be on the earpiece. I admit I had one pair that had that problem and it was irritating, but I sanded it down with a nail file and had no further problems. I do buy new ones periodically, as I have just today because the left earpiece cracked and broke today, but bear in mind that I have had and used this pair for the past 4 years. For a $10 headset, I'd say that's pretty good.
As for sound quality, I am very picky about my music. I can't stand muffled sound or sound that has so much bass that the mid and high-range notes are lost. With these headphones, I hear nuances in familiar music that I'd never heard before. If you don't mind the in-the-ear aspect of these headphones, the quality is amazing! I recommend them highly.
