Waste of Money! September 14, 2008 I had hoped that this antenna could help me improve my reception and maybe even pick up some new stations. I live 40 miles outside of Boston.
This antenna is only slightly better than having nothing at all. I am frustrated when I can pick up a station clearly in my car, when it sits in my garage, but I can't even receive it using this antenna, on my home stereo even after moving it around to various places and adjusting the gain.
Either look into attaching speaker wire, or a better solution than this.
Terk FM Amplifier July 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Terk amp. based upon the recommendation of Amazon. It is the worst product that I have EVER purchase. I tried it on two radios and in both cased the reception was almost eliminated by the static and crackling. The radio reception wasn't that bad until I connected the Terk amp and turned the power on.... Total waste of money.
Finally I've found an antenna that works! May 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I live in Washington, D.C. and love a classical station in Baltimore. I've tried a dipole, a rabbit ear, and a powered antenna from Radio Shack. I continued to have static until I bought the Terk FM-4000. Now my signal is extremely clear. I hear no difference in clarity between the D.C. stations and the one in Baltimore. The power transformer makes the signal worse, so I gladly use it without the transformer. Thanks Terk. Thanks Amazon.
Better than playing with wire April 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you live in a place where you can tape wire endlessly around the house you will get great FM reception. I don't and the wire that my receiver came with does not pull in any stations. This little gem works. The thing that blows is that it does not have enough length. Having said that, I placed it on a nearby window ledge without the ability to plug in the A/C adapter. It works good. It would work a lot better with a 25ft cord. Furthermore, it works better when it is not plugged in.
Looks nice February 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a fine looking gadget that added little or no improvement over the 75 ohm wire that came with my Tivoli Model Two. Since mine is being used in a suburban area perhaps it would benefit someone living in a rural environment.
