Product Description The Logitech Harmony 1000 features a brilliant 3.5" color touch screen that allows for one-touch activity-based control of even the most sophisticated A/V components. Say goodbye to the wasted time and unnecessary complexity of multiple remotes controlling multiple devices; Logitech's patented Smart State Technology makes it easy! Control your HDTV, adjust aspect ratios, or change sound modes - there are no complicated macros to program. Just press an on-screen activity icon and Harmony does the rest. The Harmony 1000's sleek shape and brushed aluminum surfaces will look right at home as the centerpiece of your digital living room. One remote is all you'll need to control even the most complex home entertainment systems. And when used together with a Harmony RF Wireless Extender (sold separately), you can further reduce clutter by placing your components out of sight. Since the remote can transmit both infrared and radio frequency commands, you can control equipment inside a cabinet or even in the next room.

Delivers as advertised! September 3, 2008 This is a great product. Does everything Logitech claims it does, no hassle, easy setup, and a beautiful piece of industrial engineering. Best remote control device I've ever owned. Took me 15 minutes to set everything up after charging it. No complaints, just kudos to Logitech.
Universal Remote August 31, 2008 This is a replacement for the Logitec Harmony Universal remote. The 1st purchase was returned because the battery would not hold a charge. The replacement was quickly sent and it works quite well. Set up was easy and customer service has been exceptional, to date.
Dissapointed at amateur software August 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
For a $500 device I have to say that I am disappointed with this product. If you want to just use basic out of the box functionality - its works OK, but I don't know about you, but the reason I bought this product was for the customizability. Be prepared to be frustrated, irritated, ...
Problems. If you don't use a standard activity you're hosed. I have a laptop as part of my system. I could only call it a "Make a presentation", even though I am watching it for videos (DVD's) - and in addition get no nice UI on the tough screen, just bland gray unordered buttons with "play" "pause" etc written on them. Alternatively - I call my laptop a DVD player, and insists on including my DVD player in the set up. I had to reprogram ALL the control buttons to use the laptop rather than the DVD player.
And MOST UNFORGIVABLE of all. The list of buttons presented on the PC when setting up the device is NOT THE SAME as those presented on the UI of the harmony 1000. i.e. there are soft buttons on the remote that are visible, but NOT programmable, because they are not made available by the PC UI, and vice verse.
I was going to rate the device as a 1 star. But I will give it 2 stars, my wife is able to control our media system with a single control, even if that control was half the price of a reasonable sized LCD TV.

Great remote the second time August 29, 2008 I purchased this remote seeking a simple operation. I received it and it worked great after my son programed it. I was actually surprised how simple the operation is. The first remote I received had a malfunction in it and I was sent a new one. It works great just as advertised. I do recommend getting the rf receptors(cost extra)
AWFUL product and customer servivce ! August 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
- 9 out of 10 times the remote does not operate the devices properly - I had the remote replace twice and still does not work - Also screen of the first remote went dead after few months. Screen of the second remote does not register the commands - Logitech customer service is a NIGHTMARE! You spend at least a hour each time with young clueless folks who keeps forward your call to somebody. - Also Logitech does not have the full codes of all brands and devices in their database so it creates conflicts with commands.
Product is as bad as customer service.
