This is not a 5.1 Headset. It is inexcusable that it should be listed as a 5.1 headset, it is not one. It is a decent stereo headset with a microphone, but there is no 5.1 surround involvement whatsoever.
One star for the deliberately misleading listing.

This is simply the worst set of headphones I have ever used in my life.
When I plugged them in, I heard a sharp burst of static. Windows sound manager recognized them not as headphones, but as speakers. When I tried to test the 5.1 functionality, the sound manager only recognized them as being capable of sterero. In addition to this, they are unbelievably uncomfortable.
Do not buy.

For the price, you cant beat this deal. When i play counter strike now and turn on thr surround sound settings i can hear in all directions and i really have that feeling that im in the game. mic is good too. plug and play feature is awesome and saves time and i dont have to change my audio output settings.

So with a small amount of working this is perfect, clear audio, and when there is no audio from the headset it makes sounds from the real world clear and you can even change the volume of that. great mic.
