 A good product at an affordable price January 7, 2009
I purchased the Snowflake Microphone for both podcasting as well as to simply save audio files on my Mac. The clarity it provides is impressive. Also, the microphone's small size allows you to leave it on your desktop and not have it be in the way.
Blue Snowflake review December 19, 2008
I needed something that would record quality audio in a classroom setting and the Blue Snowflake fit the bill. I recorded an important class final exam review and was surprised to hear terrible cell phone interference during the playback. The phone that my classmate was using was easily 4+ feet away and was shocked to hear how much cell interference this microphone picked up. Apparently they offer a shielded microphone that does offer cell interference suppression however these are even more. To me it is a great microphone. You just need to keep phones far away when recording. To me they should have included cell interference suppression especially for the overall cost.
nice sensitive mic November 8, 2008
Skype tested and approved! I got so tired of the $9.99 desktops mics you have to lean in to a distance of 1.5 inches away and yell to be heard. This mic is AWESOME compared to those. It can pick up my voice from at least 12 inches away, and prob more. It can even pick up (faintly) the sound of my coffee maker from about 2 feet away. No more yelling and leaning in to be heard!
Cons: a tricky finding a good spot for it to sit. But I use a logitech G11 keyboard, and i jammed the mic in one of the holes/slots in the upper right corner of this keyboard. Works for me. This was what made me rate it a 4 vs 5 star.

This microphone works as well as professional mics that are much more expensive. I use it for my podcast, and the sound quality is much improved over the macbook's internal mic.
