Product came promptly, in good condition. As it is a gift, I have not had a chance to use it.
E-MU Xmidi 1X1 USB MIDI interface works great for me. December 24, 2008
I attached this handy device to my midi keyboard and plugged it into my computer's USB port, and without further ado I could input music. I could wish for an on/off switch of some sort, to save wear and tear on the USB port, but at this price I wouldn't expect such a feature.
Works Great when you look for the lights on contact! December 21, 2008
The 1st one of these I got would not work. The lights wouldn't even light up when attached (should have given me a clue). The company that makes it was almost useless with technical support. They sent generic e-mails that gave me the impression that they neither read or understood English, since I repeatedly indicated there were no lights on the unit when attached to the keyboard and computer, and the software would not install. This seemed pretty straight forward to me. On the other hand, when I got fed up with the idiotic back and forth e-mail nonsense requesting that they read my e-mail, I contacted American Music and they sent an RMA immediately. When I got the new cable it worked flawlessly from the moment it was plugged in.
I highly recommend American Music Supply. The E-MU Xmidi cable is great if it is NOT defective from the factory. It should light up when attached to your keyboard and computer, regardless of whether the software is installed. You should have the CD software available so the drivers get installed correctly.
The bottom line is that the cable is much less expensive than the alternatives, so look for those lights!
 Works perfectly November 29, 2008
Not too much to say here other than it works. I plugged it in, plugged my MIDI equipment in the other end, fired up my MIDI software for the device, and it was imediately recognized and worked perfectly. Couldn't ask for much more from an adapter such as this.
Worked right off the bat with Vista and my V-amp 2 November 8, 2008
I bought this midi cable to hook up my V-amp 2 to my new pc with the Vista OS, and I didn't even have to install any drivers for it, it worked right off the bat. My pc recognized it immediately, no problem at all. I recommend it highly for V-amp users and whoever needs one with a computer that has Vista.
