Amazon.com Product Description These Sony headphones are super-lightweight, comfortable and safe. They have been designed with Sony's Sports Walkman series in mind. The MDR-A35G stereo headphones have a thin, lightweight and adjustable headband which allow you to fit them perfectly to your head's shape. The headphones are foldable (via three hinges) which allow for greater transportability; you can pack these away in your workout bag or in a jeans pocket. The moisture guard mechanism pulls sweat away from the ear canal, keeping your headphones drier and thus, better fitting and sounding. If you plan on listening to your MP3 player or radio while treadmilling in the gym, this feature will be greatly appreciated. The headphones are also water resistant; runners in wet environs will certainly find this advantageous. The open-air design removes undesirable resonance by allowing outside air to pass through the headphones; the result is a better sounding headphone. The open-air design is also a key factor in keeping you safe while you exercise. The headphones allow outside noises like horns, passing bikers and oncoming dogs to meet your ears, even with music playing. With sixteen millimeter drivers, although miniscule, you can expect to hear a good bass sound. Neodymium magnets, a rare feature on such economically priced headphones, provide maximum energy with minimal size. Meanwhile, the Sony Acoustic Turbo circuit is included for high efficiency; it gets high sonic output from your portable stereo, and extends bass response. The MDR-A35G's oxygen-free copper (OFC) Y-style cord is double-sided and is 3.9 feet long, allowing for ample movement and separation from the sound source. The gold-plated, L-shaped stereo mini-plug fits mini-plug jacks, not the full-size stereo jacks. The headphones are a flat black color. What's in the Box Sony MDR-A35G headphones

Great sound, great look, breaks easily though January 8, 2009 I really loved these headphones, right up until they broke 2 weeks later. I wasn't rough on them a bit, I was folding them back up after a workout, and snap they went. I would suggest the Nike SHJ045 Headband Headphones. Far better quality.
Older model was much better but not available anymore December 31, 2008 I wouldn't recommend purchasing these headphones. If you had the previous version (I think they were A34), you'll notice that this new version doesn't fold as compactly due to the different position of the earpieces, and also the different design and position of the earpieces makes the fit less comfortable than the older design. I wish they wouldn't have discontinued the older design, and I can't recommend a replacement, but I also can't recommend buying these. I will need to buy a bigger iPod case to accommodate these!
Great Value December 25, 2008 What a bargain! - fourteen and change for these excellent fitting and good sounding headphones. So light, I hardly feel them on my head. Most outside noise is blocked out; helpful at the gym with all the crap music that's played too loud. These headphones put me in my own little world; just where I belong while working out.
Best Sound for the Money! December 22, 2008 I love these Sony MDR headphones. I have had nothing but them for the past 6 years. There is ONE small problem with them - if you expand them too far to open them while putting them on your head, they snap and BREAK! This is why I keep two pairs on me at all times. Anyway - the sound is fabulous - nice deep rich bass and good and loud, too! I know it's trivial to some people, but using ear buds or any other headphones with my iPod while I'm on the 'L' in Chicago doesn't give me enough sound. I need something loud to drown out the noise and these are the only ones that will do the job. SO, if you want great sound (and don't mind being careful when opening!) get these headphones. They're marvelous. :)
Great for workouts, have not had problems others reported December 7, 2008 These Sonys have great sound (including solid bass response) although obviously not audiophile quality. I've tried working out with higher-quality sets and still come back to these because of their combination of good fit and high sound quality that doesn't seal out all outside noise (e.g. the horn of that semi bearing down on you) and also doesn't let half the gym know what you are listening to. I've taken them running in the rain frequently and never had a problem with speaker failure. I've also had several pairs, at least one for years without breakage and I tend to be a bit rough on them (e.g. folding and cramming them into bags where they are probably jostled and flexed a fair amount). I broke my last ones by stepping directly on them, but short of that sort of klutziness I don't find these to be particularly fragile.
