Amazon.com Product Description Stay alert to conditions that affect you with Midland's WR-300 weather/all-hazard radio. The unit offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which preprograms the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area--you can choose state, county, and/or nearby counties. The single-speaker radio offers 30 programmable county codes, AM/FM tuning, date, time, alarm functions, and even auto switch from AM/FM to pertinent all-hazard alerts. For tuning, the radio employs drift-free PLL (phase-lock loop) technology and an easy-to-read blue, backlit LCD. You get a convenient, 10-alert memory, and you can add, edit, and remove unwanted alerts at any time. The radio uses the supplied AC power adapter or four AA Batteries (not included). What's in the Box Radio, AC power adapter, and a user's manual.

not reccomended January 7, 2009 This radio is MUCH more complicated to set up than all the reviews I read would have you believe. We still haven't managed to turn it into a clock radio despite trying for over a week to program it. It may alert you to weather conditions but it doesn't do what I wanted it to do.
Excellent product January 6, 2009 Purchased as a Christmas present. Bought one last year for my self and really enjoy it.
Weather radio gifts January 6, 2009 These were gifts for my grown children. As far as I know, these radios are performing as advertised.
Weather Radio January 6, 2009 Great radio! Has all the "bells and whistles" I wanted. The ability to select what warnings I wanted in what regions was a real plus.
Wouldn't feel safe without it! January 2, 2009 I have only had this for just over a year, but it has already woken me up several times in the middle of the night for a tornado warning up to ten minutes before the city's warning sirens went off. While everyone else is scrambling to get to shelter in time, my wife and I are already in a safe place listening to our Midland radio. This is well-built and clearly designed for all kinds of emergencies. I also appreciate all of the features - such as the ability to deactivate audible warnings for certain types of emergencies (like flood warnings if you live on a hill and do not care).
