One of the greatest tools for teaching October 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This text has to be one of the best tools I have found for teaching skills. Everything Fred teaches makes sense, it's pure common sense! Even my Uni lecturers have all rated it highly and are considering using it as part of the course texts!
Tools for teaching October 14, 2008 I am reading this book and I found that everything Dr. Jones say is true. He focus on body language which definitely a major contribution to maintain discipline. He gives you an idea on what to do when you have discipline disruption. He also tells you what to do to help maintain classroom management. This book have CDs of his workshops which are very expensive. You can download at his website the study guides, which helps you practice what you learn. I have not try his techniques in real life, but some techniques that he mentions I have done it in my previous experience and have worked. I recommend it for people who want to improve themselves as being a more effective teacher and parent.

A Must Read! August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I told my sister how great this book is, she asked me, "Why don't they use it in college education classes?" Good question! If you are a struggling teacher (not a "natural"), this is a must read for you.
Basic knowledge for a first year teacher August 14, 2008 Good information for first year teachers, but if you have taught for a while it is definitely just a review of everything that you already have experienced and know.
