Bought for TiVO -- works great! August 18, 2008 I bought this adapter so I could connect it to my Series 2 TiVO. It connected without any issue and the TiVO recognized it as a wired connection in the networking setup. Couldn't be easier.
Solved my Windows Vista problem July 28, 2008 I had finally decided to hurl my newly upgraded Windows Vista pc out the window, when I found this little item. Vista flatly refused to recognize any adapter I tried, even though the "Upgrade Assistant" had assured me all was well. This worked INSTANTLY and is fast, reliable and cost-effective.
Works great with my Tivo July 25, 2008 I bought this to connect my Tivo to my cable modem. It worked perfectly right out of the box. Great design with a very secure connection. I replaced a Linksys adaptor that had a crappy design with an idiotic plastic door. The door broke and there was no way to use it except with duct tape! Thanks Belkin for a good design.
Just what TiVo needed July 21, 2008 I hooked this up to my TiVo, so It could be part of the household network. (BTY TiVo is much better with a network connection.)
It has worked without any problems for some time now.
I could not be happier.
Replace the motherboard?!! Nah!! Just get this! July 16, 2008 When a storm fried my ethernet port, the Mac forums I researched said you'd have to replace the motherboard to fix it. That, of course, would mean a ridiculous amount of money.
Fortunately, I found an article that recommended this under-$30 device. To make it work with Mac OSX, it explained, you'd just need to download the free Pegasus USB-to-Ethernet driver (found at sourceforge, among others).
Well, I got it today, plugged it in, and at first it didn't pull up an IP address. I called my ISP and went through a couple of simple steps -- something involving a manual setting in my network -- and soon up popped those beautiful IP address numbers. Who knows -- it might have just taken the modem a minute to figure it out and the settings I fiddled with might not have done anything. Point is, it worked with minor hassle.
What a relief! Great product at a great price. (Would be even better if it came with the Mac software/driver - we're not Untouchable Fringe People, you know, Belkin!) ;)
