Product Description Taking a road trip? The Zune Car Pack gives you everything you need to be your own DJ, listening to your tunes through your car stereo while keeping your Zune charged.
Amazon.com Product Description If you're taking a road trip, the Zune Car Pack gives you everything you need to be your own DJ, listening to your music through your car stereo while keeping your Zune charged. This device transmits music from your Zune into an FM frequency that can be picked up by your radio tuner. You can automatically select an optimal station for broadcast using the auto-tuning Zune FM Transmitter. It often takes more than one station to stay tuned in if you drive between different regions with different stations, that's why the Zune FM Transmitter has two presets so you can easily swap back and forth between your most commonly used broadcast stations. To keep up with a long road trip, you can charge your Zune while listening to music in the car. The magnetic storage clip allows you to keep wires out of your way, and the dashboard grip pad provides a great place to rest your device in the car. It is compatible with the Zune 4 GB, Zune 8 GB, Zune 30 GB, and Zune 80 GB. What's in the Box: FM transmitter/charger, dashboard grip pad, product quick start guide, product manual.

Horrible Product; Don't waste your time December 1, 2008 I've never written a customer review about a product, but I must warn others to stay away; this product will create pure frustration. The Zune car adapter is absolutely horrible. I read the instructions and other Amazon customer reviews to try and figure out why the car adapter would not work, but it was to no avail. After many attempts, all I heard was static. I use to have an IPod and I've never had any problem listening to it in my car. While I enjoy the Zune (120 GB), I'm thinking about returning it since one of the main reasons I got it was to listen to it in my car. Microsoft really needs to have a better product. After this experience, I will be reluctant to purchase another Microsoft product.
Good, solid product December 1, 2008 This Zune addition to the car has been really great for long car drives. It does exactly what it says it does. The quality of the sound is NOT perfect, but you should not be expecting it to be. There will be static on occasion, just as you would get using the regular radio.
Keep in mind, if you live in a big city, it may take some time to find that perfect channel to broadcast on. Just read the directions, and this thing will work! One tip I have: Keep the cord between the transmitter and your Zune as straight as possible, and the reception will be much better. Again, those of you complaining about the quality of the music... deal with it, you'll get the same occasional problems with ANY FM transmitter. If you can't stand it, then upgrade your sound system so you can just plug it in. Don't review this product negatively because you fail to read the instructions or are expecting it to be the best sound ever.
I like my Zune Car Pack a lot! Works especially well on the long open road!
Works Okay in Theory November 26, 2008 This device works okay in theory, but is plagued by reception problems. If you can find a clear station, and the antenna is just right it works well. Sound is fantastic as long as reception is good.
It would not pick up a channel. November 26, 2008 This would not pick up a channel. We tried it in both my car and my husband's car and it wouldn't work. We were able to tune in some music a couple of times, but it was predominantly static. My husband has an iPod and uses his car transmitter all the time with no issues at all. The one thing I did notice is that his transmitter uses a very low channel and the Zune player doesn't go that low.
Great idea, poor performance November 26, 2008 I bought this product hoping the good reviews were correct and that the poor ones were just people that were Microsoft haters. Well I found out that the poor performance people were talking about was true. Not only was the frequency range not wide enough to send the signal to open channels, but when I could find a frequency to use I would have to fully extend to cord and move my zune around to just the right spot to get a decent signal. And when I say decent signal, I mean there was never a time when I had no static.
