Works fine August 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had the PocketHub for one week now. So far no problems connecting or recognizing devices. I have the Hub plugged into a MacBook Pro, and have a mouse, keyboard and printer plugged into the Hub. All have worked fine from the start with no problems.
advanced hub June 9, 2008 This item was for the company i work for so timely delivery was very important. We received the item in a very timely manner and was packaged very well. Very satisfied.
Good support February 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Overall a good product that does what it says. Reads just about every type of memory card and the extra USB ports are a much appreciated.
The hub comes with an external power adapter, but I've never needed it - seems to get enough power from the computer to run the devices I've plugged in. I haven't tried charging a normal iPod through it, but it has no problems charging a shuffle. Why don't I plug my iPod in? Well, it seems really slow. Not USB 1.0 slow, but this is definitely not the fastest USB 2.0 data transfer I've ever used.
On the plus side, when the reader exhibited bent pins in the CF reader portion, Kensington sent out a new replacement without making me deal with the cost of sending back the old unit. Great service.
very limited product November 11, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
1) It won't work without the power adaptor. I've tried it on my Mac's OE usb ports and on a pci board. Both will drive any usb product I've ever plugged into them including power hungry products like speakers, except the Kensington Pocket Hub. The console log indicates it wants too much power. I've seen the same report on Apple's web site about this product.
2) The cord is a bit over 3 feet long. Unless your usb ports (and ac) are nearby, don't expect to locate the hub anywhere convenient. Long mini usb cords are hard to find and expensive.

I have so much plugged into my poor little Mac Laptop, but I did notice that it is a bit slower to use normal things through this hub. I can't blame the hub... but it's not perfect.
