Amazon.com Product Description Improving on the original Z9, the enhanced BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth headset incorporates a number of new features and packaged accessories with a focus on comfort and wearability. BlueAnt has refined its Voice Isolation Technology software to improve the Z9i's noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction capabilities.
Thanks to BlueAnt's Voice Isolation Technology, the Z9i provides outstanding noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction. |
It comes with both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook. | The Z9i includes both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook: the original translucent style and a more ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook. It also offers an innovative tie clip lets you attach the V1 headset to your shirt or cuff when not in use. The Z9i incorporates dual microphones allowing for BlueAnt's patented Voice Isolation Technology, a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution that uses advanced techniques to separate the user's voice signal from all other sounds, enhancing and isolating all frequencies that affect voices coming into and out of the headset. This results in outstanding environmental noise reduction, echo cancellation and wind noise protection. You can choose between dual Voice Isolation modes: Standard for use in normal environments to remove mild background noise, and Max, which provides superior voice clarity for use in extremely noisy environments. The BlueAnt Z9i works with Bluetooth version 2.0 and its multi-point technology allows you to connect simultaneously to two phones and answer the one that rings. The Z9i can now connect with up to five Bluetooth devices (instead of the Z9's three). Automatic reconnect also finds the last cell phone or device paired, and automatically reconnects. Features - Two microphones for pure speech
- Multipoint technology allows connection to two phones simultaneously
- Automatic connection and reconnection with notification
- Different ring-tones for known and unknown contacts
- Innovative tie clip for attaching to shirt or cuff, when not in use

more than a great bluetooth... September 3, 2008 I spent allot of time researching the different bluetooth headsets and found that this one has received great reviews across the board so I thought I would give it a try. Great volume quality and voice quality. My boyfriend who cannot hear me when I'm on the phone has to turn down his phone when I'm on my bluetooth. The voice quality is great: clear, loud, and with the voice isolation can block out the freeway noise when driving. One of the requirements for me was that it also had to look good. So many of the good bluetooths are very manish and just plain ugly; this is petit and the red is a great burgundy color. OVerall, great quality, battery life is good, and stylish; good product!
Looks cool, but doesn't work September 2, 2008 The noise canceling feature of this product does not work as advertised. I had mine for five days and sent it back. You need to buy any cheap headphone or pay the money for the Jawbone II. The Jawbone II is worth every penny of the price. One of my test was to use it while setting on my running Harley Davidson motorcycle and talking to my wife. She could hear me just fine. Amazon's return for the BlueAnt was especially easy, just a few clicks and print the return label entirely at their expense. My credit card was promptly credited. Thanks Amazon
Works with two cell phones -- at the same time! September 2, 2008 The Z9i Bluetooth Headset with dual mic and voice isolation was referred to me by a fellow iPhone owner. He had a black Z9i, but I purchased the red color. I strongly recommend this brand/model based on the following: 1) It pairs easily with the iPhone (my personal cell) and, even better, has excellent sound quality (no easy task with the iPhone). 2) It pairs even easier with the Blackberry (my new work cell). 3) It remains active with two phones at the same time. If I want to make a call from my iPhone, I just dial and it recognizes the headset -- same with the Blackberry. If a phone comes in on either phone, I click the MFB (multi-function button) and it answers correctly.
I have been through five other bluetooth sets for my iPhone (including the expensive iPhone apple-brand headset) without getting a satisfactory and consistent connection. The Z9i Blueant solved two problems at the same time -- having a very workable solution for my iPhone AND only having to have one headset that works with both phones. By the way, I LOVE my iPhone and would rather use the headset cords than give it up, but I have continued my quest to find a bluetooth headset for the safety and convenience of a wireless headset. I tolerate the Blackberry (which I'm sure will infuriate many Blackberry fanatics), but it is in no way comparable to an iPhone! Blueant and other manufacturers have headsets that they state will pair with multiple (up to five) phones at the same time. This is the only one that actually keeps two phones active.
Good performance and unobtrusive September 1, 2008 Looks great; fits well; hard to loose; easy to operate...
This unit had better natural voice fidelity than the jawbone in normal operating mode. Jawbone probably still beats this in very noisy environments, but the Z9i's "max noise isolation" is good enough.
In the end, my friends appreciate the better voice quality under normal conditions, which are 98% of my calls.
Should have bought a Jawbone! August 27, 2008 After trying ten different models of bluetooth headsets, I was ready to give up on this technology. I'm always on the road and it gets annoying when everyone you talk to complains about how you sound. I came across the BlueAnt and was encouraged by the reviews. After a month of using it daily, I can honestly say it's no better than the $20 Motorola I have for back up. I'm order a Jawbone today so I'll let you know if it's any better.
