 needs $ updates & driver detective after "free" installation period October 8, 2008
Most reviews are made when product is new & reviewer is excited about new item. Or, it just doesn't work. I am missing two fingers & hate mice that I have to manuever all over the desk ...cord bunching & tangling, etc. Normal balls don't work either. The thumb trackball is perfect for me. Cordless sounded great. Perfect until the "free" updates ran out. Or ...maybe when they started. At any rate,it worked perfectly on my Windows Vista until THE UPDATE (after about 1 month),then the cursor froze. I purchased & downloaded software which fixed the problem sort of. Sometimes unplugging the USB worked or unplugging the computer. Then restarting the computer every time. Then redownloading the software,then redownloading the software EVERY time. NOW....WHO CARES? Please don't waste your $. If you already own it, save your $ and don't bother fixing what can't be fixed.

I have used this mouse (model) for about 4 or 5 years. Absolutely love it always dependable. When on Ubuntu, the task bar even shows the amount of battery power left in the one double-a. Whether wired or wireless (I have had both), this is so comfortable. You only move your thumb to use it. For me, trackball is the way to go - you can just sit it on the arm of your couch or on your stomach when using a laptop.
However, it takes a little patience to get used to this type of mouse. I recommended it to someone at work and he didn't like it. So he gave the mouse to me (bonus - extra one for me!)

Product was everything I expected it to be. I had always used the trackman wheel with the cord, and they would always short out eventually. Usually around a years time, this was likely due to how much I move the trackball, but with the wireless, I don't have to worry about that.
Customer service was excellent, got to me quick and in brand new condition.

I have used the Trackman Wheel mouse for years because I like being able to hold the mouse in my lap and work in order to avoid carpal tunnel. I have gone through probably 3 of these over the years. This is my first cordless and it fits my hands just like the regular TrackMan, but is even easier to use due to being cordless. I have the base unit sitting several feet away due to space constrictions on my desk and I have never lost my signal. I love it.

This is a nice reliable mouse. Takes a little time to get used to it, but after a couple of days it is easy. Great product for my small, cluttered desk.
