Product Description The Toshiba 20AF46 20-Inch television delivers images of such quality they're best described as Eye Candy. The FST Pure set incorporates an absolutely flat picture tube, for pin-sharp corner-to-corner focus with unprecedented detail and color purity from every vantage point. A 3-line Digital Comb Filter converts and stores 3 scanning lines, for much more accurate separation of Chrominance and Luminance, and virtual elimination of dot crawl & cross color interference Color Trilingual On-Screen Display V-Chip parental control Unit Dimensions - 23.25 (w) x 19 (d) x 17.5 (h) Unit Weight - 50.5 lbs.
Amazon.com Product Description Nicely compact and attractively styled in a silver/gray cabinet, the 20-inch Toshiba 20AF46 flat screen CRT television will fit easily into any room in your home--from kitchen to kids' room. It features a handy A/V input on the front of the set for quick connection of VCR, DVD player, game console, or video camcorder. It also includes a set of component video inputs for brilliant imagery from DVD players and compatible cable/satellite set-top boxes. With V-Chip parental controls, you can easily enable password protection to block shows based on the TV rating system. The GameTimer feature also allows parents to set the TV to shut off after a specified period of game playing, and it will stay off until a lockout key code is entered. The FST PURE flat screen picture tube delivers increased viewing angles along with the enhanced picture linearity necessary to produce accurate, life-like images. This feature eliminates unwanted reflections from room lighting, which is a common problem in conventional tube designs. It also improves sharpness and brightness. Other features include a 181-channel NTSC tuner, standard display 4:3 aspect ratio, 1-watt mono speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack for private listening, tri-lingual onscreen menus (English, French, Spanish), glow-key remote control, and a sleep timer that can delay shut-down for up to three hours (in 10-minute intervals). This set has two stereo speakers that produce 2.5 watts of power per channel (5 watts total). The double baffle front-firing speaker design delivers improved stereo sound reproduction without connection additional speakers. The StableSound feature eliminates the annoyance of normal program volume being followed immediately by extremely loud commercial messages or drastic volume fluctuations while changing channels. Here's the full round-up of video and audio connections: - Composite A/V: 2 (1 front)
- S-Video: 1
- Component Video: 1
- RF: 1
- Headphone: 1 (front)
Tech Talk Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound. What's in the Box Flat-screen CRT TV, remote control (with batteries), printed operating instructions

Great Televison, Superb Picture Quality January 20, 2007 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
In our fast paced world of HDTV's with 1080i and DLP, we are only starting to unearth more problems. Colors burn out, the television won't turn on, and the ridiculous pricing for purchasing and repair.
If you look back about four to five years ago, CRT was the very first step towards HDTV. When they first came out, prices were grossly expensive, with prices ranging from $599-$6999. Then, LCD came out, and prices dropped to $355-$4899. And when HDTV with 720p came out, prices kept on coming down. Today, prices range from $175-$2999. People may think that CRT is old technology, but believe me, it is an excellent television. While is may only have 480i, the picture quality is astounding. And now that prices have dropped so low, they are a more budget-friendly option to HDTV.
Pros: -Excellent Picture Quality -Colors can really stand out -Brightness levels are great -Most CRT televisions are HD ready. -DVD Player and Game Console ready.
Cons: -Doesn't rival picture quality of HDTV.
Overall, this is a great buy for families who want HDTV quality, but without the HDTV prices.
Good TV with excellent picture September 27, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We purchased this as an extra TV for a home office. It has a fine picture and the A/V inputs we need for a VCR and a DVD player.
Same Problem August 12, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had a strange green splotch show up on the left side of the television. Also, the remote control has stopped working, but that could be the result of the abuse it has endured more than a faulty design.
The set could use more buttons on the front to change TV/Video or other settings.
Color display problem and Electronic Hum July 26, 2006 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This TV has the color display problem, there is an abnormal spot of red color on the lower left corner of the TV and an abnormal spot of green color on the lower right corner of the TV. I discovered it when I connect it to my dvd player, where dvd player itself has no problem. It supposes to show me a blue screen with dvd player's brand name on it, but it showed me these two additional abnormal color spot, which is so annoying. Especially when I watch movie with subtitle of white color on left right and all subtitle on the right side changed to light green color.
Also there is electronic hum when I turn on the TV, but it's not really a big deals.
It might be just this one has such problem, so I returned it as a defective unit.
