| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Rainy days and Mondays always made Karen Carpenter blue. Maybe she should have played her two Christmas records, Christmas Portrait and An Old Fashioned Christmas. Both are combined in this 31-piece collection, a great value for fans of this brother-sister duo who captured the pop airwaves during the early to mid-'70s. A number of good performances mark the collection, which includes songs from their Christmas TV special, numerous cuts backed by full orchestra that prove the duo could extend their pop sensibilities to timeless holiday fare, and singular works such as "Little Altar Boy," a song that Richard Carpenter feels was among his sister's greatest performances. --Martin Keller
Album Details Digitally Remastered Double CD Collection featuring 1978's 'christmas Portrait' Backed with 1984's 'an Old Fashioned Christmas'.

Christmas Collection November 29, 2008 A fantastic transfer of the two original Christmas albums of the Carpenters from the mid 70's
It wouldn't be a great CHRISTmas without the CarpentersMusic November 21, 2008 I use to play the original Carpenters CHRISTmas album every year.Richard says this was Karens first solo record, because he was sick at the time.I remember watching there CHRISTmas show, and loved it.The first disk has this wonderfull music from that show. The second CD is mostly music put together after Karens passing, but has her fantastic track, "Little alter boy."Its worth the money just to hear this song. You are going to LOVE this CHRISTmas Collection.
great carpenters & singers October 30, 2008 a very touching album. it was so much cheaper to get this double CD set. a very pretty, touching sound. it's karen's pretty voice. the cd cover photo is a bit grainy & the rest of the group should have been on the front cover. enjoy.
Best Of The Best!!! June 19, 2008 Nobody! I mean Nobody can make Christmas music like the Carpenters. In this package you get both Christmas albums. "Christmas Portrait" released back in 1978,contains the songs Merry Christmas Darling,Christmas Waltz,Ave Maria,Sleigh Ride,I'll Be Home For Christmas, and many more. In my opinion, that is the best Christmas album ever made! On Disc 2, you get "An Old Fashioned Christmas" released back in 1984, most of the songs were leftovers from the "Christmas Portrait" recording sessions. On this album you get Little Altar Boy,Do You Hear What I Hear?,Santa Clause Is Coming To Town,An Old Fashioned Christmas and many more. This album is well worth the purchase, your not just get one but two of the greatest Christmas albums of all time and by one of the greatest groups ever! Karen Carpenter had a one in a billion voice and Richard Carpenter's arrangments are flawless. Make sure you get your copy today!
No Voice Ever like Karen's April 1, 2008 Incredible voice of Karen and wonderful arrangements by Richard. I wish she could have made back as we would still be having a one of a kind voice entertaining us.
