Horrible!! November 20, 2007 This was a truly horrible CD player. I bought it used and it lasted less than a year! The plastic circular piece at the center of the CD player that holds the CD in place while it spins, broke in half and I hardly even used it.
In addition, the volume is controlled by digital buttons! The problem is that buttons do not offer the precision control that a traditional analog turn wheel can offer. Sometimes you want to hear music at a specific volume level but these buttons don't offer the precision that's required. Also, when you turn off the CD player and you do not have any batteries in it, it will not remember your volume settings. So you'll need to set it again every time you unplug it if you're using the AC adaptor. Lastly, pressing the + or - buttons once to change the volume is not enough. You have to hold it down or press it twice before it recognizes the fact that you're trying to change the volume. This is extremely annoying.
Fast-forwarding and rewinding is also a tedious process. Unlike some other portable CD players that offer at least 2 speeds by holding the buttons down for a longer period of time, this model only offers 1 speed- slow.
I would highly recommend everyone to stay away from this CD player. It's not worth the space this CD player would take up on your table even if you got this for free.
excellent product August 22, 2002 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this cd player close to a year ago and am satified to say that it hasnt given me problems until recently. Id like to add to that though that it was my fualt...go figure. I highly reccomend this item for anyone who likes to listen to music without all the skipping, and stopping etc, but without the large price tag. My favorite features of this player are the bass boost, volume limiter,(avls)and the 4 different play modes. i would have given this product 5 stars if it had a pause button. But hey, no biggy. Hope this will help you with your purchase.

Perfect!!! January 28, 2002 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
If you want just a CD player this is as good as any portable CD player out there (no matter the price). It doesn't do MP3, but I don't care. It can play burnt normal CDs though. I had a Sony Discman for 5 years (almost 6) and it stopped doing stereo sound so I decided I wanted another Sony because my Discman had no problems for 5 years and 9 months. Man, this has excellent sound. I had the volume as loud as it goes with Bass Boost on 3rd level and it didn't screw up the sound, and I could hear it across the room while it was going through the headphones. The headphone that come with it are excellent, they produce great sound and are very comfortable. My mom even loves it, she wants to get one and mini speakers for the office. It's not much bigger than the CDs. Oh, also I put the sound to teh test, I played some Creed, Saliva, and Korn to test it for hard rock and it had no problems. I even played some trance, techno, and hip hop on there with no problems. I listen to it on the bus and on half way I can barely hear people within 2 feet of me unless they yell. Also, I can't get it to skip! I tried everything. I literaly played frisbee with my friend while I was listening (on a bed so if it dropped it wouldn't get hurt and from a short distance too) and it didn't skip. I even tried shaking it like I was making Kool-Aid and it wouldn't skip. If ESP Max absoloutely won't skip then why would G Protection be better? It will not skip! The sound also is so good that when I play CDs on my PC I have to adjust because I get used to the superiority of this CD player's sound...But I do have a car kit (i've had it) and the cig lighter DC 4.5 in and it works great.
It's all about the bass. January 1, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I love this cd player! The bass is unreal! It has three levels. No extra, regular boost, and not for the weak of heart levels. All in all I recomend this cd player to any body. It is the best!
