I have owned this product for 4 months. I wonder how I ever got along without it. This is the first time the advertising was true. I live in a very rural area,the land of cattle trails. I plug this into my car and no matter how bummpy the road gets the music will not skip. I have tried :-). This product has been attacked by a 4 year old,dropped, kicked and generally abused. It still keeps going! The best feature is the g-shock and when engaged it will not skip. The sound is incredible. The batteries last for 36 hours of contunious music and will charge the batteries from the car cig plug in or the a/c outlet if you have rechargable batteries. My only beef with it is that the recharger on the unit could be better as it does not charge the batteries all the way. In all I would buy this product again.

I bought this product as a replacement for my old Sony D-EJ616ck, assuming that it was an upgraded model because of the number. This player is terrible--it's incredibly weak (I don't like loud music and this player doesn't have enough power for me), the sound is very bass heavy even without the added bass feature, and there are little pops and crackles at random. What's more, it doesn't have some of the features of the 616, like the backlit panel (which was great for the car). Either this is a poorly designed/made discman or Sony needs to work on their quality control. Avoid this one.

This SONY model does exactly what it advertises. It only plays CDs, but it plays them very well. It plays CD-RW discs without any problems. It provides good quality anti-skip protection during movement/workouts. The CD player has taken reasonably tough punishment and continues to operate with high quality. I have used it at the gym for more than 40 hours of play and on mulitple plane rides across the country, and have been very happy I made the purchase of this unit. As a bonus, the headphones fit one of the major airline's audio jacks and allowed me listen free to two movie showings.Areas for improvement for some will include that the battery life does not quite appear to be the 34-36 hours the manufacturer suggests. I have changed the batteries a couple of times, and it seems more like 24-26 hours of battery life. Also, there are benefits and negatives from the foam-padded, larger earpiece earphones. They rest softly and nicely on the ears, but are not flexible enough to shape around your head for maximum sound quality. I usually need to tilt them back for best sound enjoyment. Overall, this is a quality unit at an affordable price. Most accurately rated at 4.55 out of 5.00 stars, rounded up to 5.00 stars. I am getting my money's worth and I know what to look for when this one wears out and I want to upgrade or change technology.

This CD player is without a doubt one of the best you can buy for the money. It sounds great, and is small and compact. It has all the functions you would expect from a CD player, Hold, Repeat, Shuffel, and program. Its G-protection makes it very hard to skip, even with it off you have to shake it for awhile to skip. It has a respectiable 36 hour long Battery life, and has the capability to charge batterys. It cames with a little writs strap and every thing. The Bass function is great and smooth. The music does get slightly distroted and the highest volume level but just barely and only a crazy person would listen to it all the wayup because its REALLY loud. The headphones that comes with it are pretty cheap but thats how they always come. Over all its a great buy, it has good sound, its small, plays CD-R/RW, 36 hour battery life. And that hard to beat SONY quality

This cd player is the best cd player ive ever had!The sound is not awful its probably you put it in the Line out.The volume switch is really cool its not a turning one its 2 buttons.The G-Protection is the best also, Ive shaken this like 100 times hard and even dropped it without it skipping at all .For 80 bucks i thought i wasted a little of my money but it but that may be because it comes with a car kit and headphones and alote more things.I would though recommened different headphones because these that come with it are pretty bad.The sony behind the head style is great pair with lots of bass and loud sound.
