| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Panasonic brings a beautiful design and a wealth of features to this ultra thin portable CD player with 2 Ni-CD rechargeable batteries. You can enjoy listening to CDs that you make, since this portable CD player enables playback of CD-R and CD-RW disks. The SL-CT590 is round and only slightly larger than a CD - it's thin, lightweight, and easy to take on the go. Program this portable CD player to play a CD at random, in a specified order, or to repeat one song or the whole disk, letting you enjoy your favorite tunes without interruption. Extra Bass System (XBS) gives your music an added bass boost for fuller sound. The CD player can be used outdoors because of a heat-resistant body design. In order to load a CD, the top of the player fully opens, and a slide lock closes it back up once your CD is placed inside, making sure your player won't open during playback. An included pair of stereo headphones lets you enjoy your music to the fullest.

Reliable and Reasonable May 3, 2003 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After buying this model a year ago, I was a skeptic. ... I was hoping that the money I spent on this would result in a excellent product, and it did. This is such a lightweight, sleek and appealing, reliable, and excellent quality CD player. It works great, and it's so simple because there are only 6 buttons you need to worry about. The cover isn't crowded with uneeded things, just the right amount. This is a great buy, and I think that it's worth every penny. The only flaw would be that it takes awhile to charge, and the numbers can't be seen in the dark! I recommend it!
It's okay, as long as you don't expect it to work. March 19, 2003 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got one of these puppies back in September. It was pretty nice at first. I liked it because it came with a remote and a carrying pouch thingy and it had a long battery life. There were some annoying parts, like how the resume function starts a track from the beginning every time and how the sound cuts out for a second when you push a button on the remote, but it wsan't bad, overall. After a couple of months, though, it stopped working. Something about the controls; I couldn't stop it and then once it did stop I could never start it again. Panasonic gave me the address of a place that would fix it for me, so I took it in. A week later, they called back and told me that Panasonic had given them specific instructions not to fix the CD player. I would have to send it in for a replacement. Cut ahead three weeks or so, and my replacement arrives. Not the same color, but I didn't mind that so much. What I did mind was that there was no remote and a set of batteries lasted about half as long as in my original CD player. I called back and they sent me a new remote, but it wouldn't work, so they told me to send it in again. Another month, and I'm on my third. Once again, it has no remote. The Panasonic people tell me that it isn't compatible with a remote control, despite the fact that my original came with one and various store web sites say that it's supposed to include one. Also, when comparing manuals, I'm finding that even the listed battery life for the replacement is significantly shorter than for my original. Panasonic says they'll give me a refund if I send this one back, but after all the time I spent, the shipping, and the long distance charges, it feels like I'm cutting my losses. Avoid this CD player.
give me a break! February 6, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The person writing the first review also wrote review for three other cd players he supposedly purchased the same month. Sure he did! Some of the cd players are similar models. Who can you believe anymore? Certainly not the "Customer reviews".
best of all. December 28, 2002 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is perheps one of the best cd player around with low price and works like charm.First of all,the best thing is the remote control,it looks so cool with red EL backlit. It is very small, thin and compact perfect for people on the run and needed a light wighted and small player.the sound delivered by the player is of high quality and up to expectation. This is definately the best player around that is worthy of its price.I noticed that the sony player offer a little more function but cost so much more and most important, it spoils easily.
