Duofol diaphragms deliver high-resolution to your sounds, and the lightweight aluminum voice coils efficiently transmit sound with excellent dynamics. The diaphragms are designed with a geometry that cuts down on intermodulatory distortion, and the high-quality leatherette headband gives comfort for your head. The 6.3mm stereo jack and 3.5mm adapter are both gold-plated for first-class connectivity, and the 10-foot cable gives you plenty of flexibility along with a wide range of motion. Completely underwhelmed... November 5, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was quite anxious to get my Sennheiser HD595 headphones in the mail today. So much praise has been written about them. Man, what a disappointment. These headphones sound veiled and lacking in bottom end. Boxy too. Just putting them on, the outside sounds are boxy sounding. Not a good sign.
I own a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones, which are sealed and a pair of Grado SR60's, which are open like the HD595's. The Grado's, for $69.00, blow these out of the water.
I put on a classical CD, since that is what most "audiophile headphones" seem to favor, and the music sounded fine. I then put on a Rush CD that's a personal favorite of mine and was shocked by how muffled it sounded.
Believe me, I like an accurate headphone. No boomy bass, no ultra cripsy highs to set my teeth to aching. But these HD595's are completely BORING to listen to. People keep saying how these sound like you're in the first row at a concert, versus several rows back like other, more expensive Sennheiser headphones. Well, if this is first row, that first row is 6 blocks from the stage.
Save your $200 for a nice pair of Grado's, you won't be disappointed.
Very Impressed October 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use these headphones for music and for watching movies and playing videogames. They are comfortable, light, come in a sturdy box and have a nifty little stand. I also own the BOSE Noise Cancelling $299 headphones, and while those are good for places where I dont want everyone to hear what I am listening to, the 595s produce much higher quality sound and they are $100 less! The other reviews influenced me greatly in my decision to buy these, read them and read them all - make sure these fit the kind of headphones you need, they are NOT the kind of headphones you want to buy if you are working in a place where others are withing 15 feet of you, they leak serious amounts of noise....
Either way, For my needs, they are perfect and if they meet yours, I assure you that you will not be at all disappointed.
Good for the Ears October 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like these headphones because it is possible to get excellent and satisfying audio without turning up the volume enough to aggravate my tinnitus.
From a guy that love to listen music and see movies with heat phones... October 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I try sennheiser before and I never like any of them but, I have to said that those headphones from sennheiser are really good. I have for about 4 years a per of Grado SR60 and I like them a lot but, I was looking for a more comfortable headphones and those headphones will give you that. If I have to compare those two headphones I have to said both are very good choice just the sennheiser 595 are more comfortable. If you just love to hear music and see movies with headphones you will love this one. Like I said if you are looking for comfort and great sound those are the headphones to buy.
AMAZING! October 16, 2008 The best headset I have owned, though I am coming from the basic $20-40 headsets. Sounds even better with an amp!
