The EXP3362 portable CD player from Philips offers stylish good looks, a slim profile, and compatibility with CD-based MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) files, letting you carry hours of your favorite music on just one disc. The player also offers full ID3 tag recognition for convenient song and artist name displays. Use it with MP3 files encoded at anywhere from 32 to 320 kbps (including variable bit-rate files) and WMA files encoded from 32 to 192 kbps. Philips Magic ESP provides 200 seconds of electronic-skip protection with 64 kbps WMA files, 100 seconds with 128 kbps MP3 files, and 45 seconds with audio CD. Electronic skip protection automatically stores digital music information during play using a large memory buffer and inserts it in place of lost information when the CD player is bumped or shaken, preventing interruptions caused by shocks and vibration.
Playback options include resume (a bookmark function that picks up playback where you last stopped), repeat (track, album, or disc), and random play.
The onboard 1-bit digital-to-analog converter renders digital audio as smoothly and accurately as possible. The player also offers shuffle and repeat modes, a heat-resistant body for outdoor use, and a hold switch (which prevents unintended interruptions in playback and saves batteries by negating playback when the player is stopped). Auto power off kicks in one minute after playback has ended, an additional battery-saving convenience.
The player runs for approximately 20 hours on 2 AA batteries playing MP3/WMA files and 10 hours with audio CDs. Alternately, you may use 2 AAA batteries for approximately 10 hours playback (MP3/WMA) or 5 hours playback (audio CD).
